Discovery Optics HT-NV 3x42 IR

• Fixed 3x magnification: The simple fixed-power layout gives a constant sight picture and avoids the extra bulk and moving parts of a variable scope, which suits fast rimfire shooting, training rifles and straightforward field use.
• 42 mm objective lens: A larger front lens helps the scope deliver a bright, easy-to-read image, especially when shooting in dim woodland, on overcast days or during the first and last light of legal hunting hours.
• Red and green illuminated reticle: Dual-color illumination helps the aiming point stand out against different backgrounds, making it easier to hold on dark targets, shaded cover or cluttered backstops.
• Locking multi-turn turrets: The turrets are designed to stay secure once set, reducing the chance of accidental movement during transport or field handling while still allowing meaningful elevation and windage correction.
• Compact 153 mm body: The short overall length and 265 g weight keep the rifle trim and well balanced, which is useful on lightweight rimfire setups, compact carbines and rifles carried for long periods.

About the HT Series

Discovery Optics HT riflescopes sit in the brand's practical, value-focused part of the lineup, aimed at shooters who want useful field features without moving into heavier or more specialized long-range optics. Within the Discovery Optics range, the HT series covers compact and conventional scope formats for hunting optics, training rifles and general target use. The series is known for combining straightforward optical layouts with features that matter in daily use, such as illuminated reticle options, nitrogen purging and weather-resistant construction.

Across the family, HT models are built to stay manageable in size while still offering enough optical performance for common sporting distances. Depending on the model, the series includes fixed-power and variable-power configurations, with designs that suit everything from rimfire rifles to centerfire hunting setups. A consistent theme is functional handling: clear sight pictures, uncomplicated controls and durable construction intended for repeated range use and outdoor carry. That makes the HT line a sensible fit for shooters who prioritize reliability, compactness and easy operation over highly specialized competition features.

About the Discovery Optics HT-NV 3x42 IR

Discovery Optics HT-NV 3x42 IR is a compact fixed-power riflescope built around a 3x42 configuration that favors speed, simplicity and a bright image. On rimfire rifles and light sporting setups, 3x magnification is often enough to place shots precisely at typical field and range distances while keeping a wider, more natural view than higher-power optics. The 12.38 m/100m field of view supports easier target acquisition, which is helpful when shooting small game, reactive targets or moving between multiple aiming points.

The optical layout is paired with an 8.00 mm exit pupil, which helps the image stay forgiving behind the rifle and contributes to comfortable viewing in lower light. A 70.00 mm eye relief gives practical head-position flexibility, while the fixed 91.44 m parallax setting keeps the scope straightforward to use for shooters who do not need side-focus adjustment. The illuminated reticle, available in red and green, improves contrast against different target colors and backgrounds, which can make the aiming point easier to pick up in mixed light.

Mechanically, this model is designed for everyday durability. The locking turrets help protect zero during transport, and the multi-turn adjustment system provides useful correction range with 14.54 mrad / 50.00 MOA of elevation and windage travel. A 25.4 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction make the scope well suited to regular outdoor use on compact hunting or training rifles where low weight and uncomplicated handling matter.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics states that it was established in 2009. The company focuses on rifle scopes for shooting and hunting, while also offering electro-optical sighting devices and thermal imaging products for hunting applications. Its riflescope catalog includes the XED, ED, LHD and HD series, showing a range that covers both conventional optical sights and more specialized configurations.

The brand lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Across its riflescope range, Discovery Optics offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane reticles, reflecting a product strategy that serves different shooting styles, from straightforward field use to more precision-oriented setups. That broad optics focus is relevant to the HT series, which sits within a lineup built around practical sporting and hunting applications.
