Dentler Base rail BASIS - Steyr Mannlicher Classic M

• Firearm-specific fit: This BASIS base rail is shaped for the Steyr Mannlicher Classic M pattern, which helps the mount sit correctly on the receiver and avoids improvised fitting work.
• Modular BASIS interface: The rail works with the Dentler Mounts Interface, so one optic setup can be moved within the BASIS system with a repeatable, mechanically consistent connection.
• Steel construction: A steel base gives the mounting point the rigidity needed for hunting rifles, helping the optic stay secure under recoil and regular field use.
• Low-profile build: With a 4.00 mm BH height, the rail keeps the mounting platform close to the rifle, which supports a more natural sight line and a cleaner overall setup.
• Matte black finish: The black matte surface keeps reflections down and matches practical hunting rifle builds where glare control and understated appearance matter.

About the BASIS Series

The Dentler BASIS series is a modular mounting system developed for hunting rifles that need a secure, repeatable way to carry different optics. In the Dentler lineup, BASIS serves as the core platform built around two parts: a firearm-specific base rail that remains on the rifle and an interchangeable optic rail that stays attached to the sight. This approach suits hunters who alternate between day optics, red dots or other sighting systems without wanting to rework the rifle each time.

A defining characteristic of the series is its emphasis on repeatable positioning and a mechanically precise interface between rifle and optic. Dentler builds the system around model-specific lower geometry and a common upper interface, so the base rail matches the firearm while remaining compatible with BASIS mounting rails above it. The series is also known for its steel-focused construction, practical field handling and compact form, making it well suited to traditional hunting rifles where reliability, low added height and clean integration matter more than bulk or unnecessary complexity.

About the Dentler Base rail BASIS - Steyr Mannlicher Classic M

The Dentler Base rail BASIS - Steyr Mannlicher Classic M is a dedicated mounting base for rifles built on the Steyr Mannlicher Classic M pattern, and it is also compatible with Steyr SM 12 M, Steyr CL II M and Steyr Pro Hunter M (After 2003). Its role is straightforward but important: it creates the rifle-side foundation of the Dentler modular system, giving the shooter a stable interface for a compatible BASIS upper mount.

Because this base is made from steel, it is intended to provide the stiffness and wear resistance expected from a permanent mounting component. That matters in practice because the base rail is the part that stays on the rifle; it has to maintain alignment and resist movement over repeated installation cycles and recoil. The 4.00 mm BH height keeps the assembly relatively low, which helps preserve sensible optic height and handling on classic hunting rifle platforms.

Its dimensions, including A 21.84 mm, B 83 mm and C 21.84 mm, reflect a compact rail made for a specific receiver footprint rather than a universal compromise. Finished in black matte, it blends cleanly with modern and traditional rifle builds alike. For hunters using the Dentler ecosystem, this base rail is the key part that turns a compatible Steyr rifle into a platform ready for interchangeable optic mounting while keeping the installation neat, low and mechanically consistent.

About Dentler

Dentler Jagdwaffen was founded in 2011 by Daniel Dentler. Based in Leutkirch im Allgäu, Germany, the company focuses on modular riflescope mounting systems for hunting firearms rather than general shooting accessories. Its best-known product families are BASIS and BASIS VARIO, both built around the idea of separating the rifle-side base from the optic-side mount.

The company’s strength is system compatibility across a wide range of rifles and optics. Dentler offers mounting rails for optics from brands such as Aimpoint, Pulsar, Swarovski and Zeiss, as well as Weaver/Picatinny formats. It also supports firearms from makers including Benelli, Browning, Merkel, Heckler & Koch and Rößler. That specialization has given Dentler a clear place in the hunting optics market: practical, model-specific mounting solutions designed to make optic changes more flexible without abandoning a precise mechanical fit.
