Dentler Base rail BASIS - CZ 557

• Firearm-specific BASIS interface: This base rail is shaped for the CZ 557 platform and related actions, giving the Dentler mounting system a secure foundation without improvised fitting work.
• Modular optic changes: As part of the Dentler BASIS system, the rail lets one compatible upper mounting rail move between optics, making it practical to switch setups for different hunting roles.
• Steel construction: The steel body provides the rigidity needed for repeatable mounting and dependable hold under recoil, which matters when a rifle is used with multiple optics over time.
• Low 4.00 mm BH height: The low-profile design helps keep the optic close to the bore, supporting a tidy rifle setup and a more natural cheek weld.
• Matte black finish: The non-reflective surface suits hunting rifles and field use, reducing glare while matching modern optics and rifle hardware.

About the BASIS Series

Dentler BASIS is the company’s modular mounting system for hunters who want to use one rifle with different optics or move a preferred sighting setup between compatible firearms. The system is built around two parts: a firearm-specific base rail that stays on the rifle and an interchangeable optic mounting rail that carries the scope or sight. This approach places BASIS as a practical solution between a conventional fixed mount and a more complex multi-rifle setup.

A defining characteristic of the series is its focus on repeatable optic changes and a precise mechanical fit. Dentler designs each lower rail for a specific firearm interface, while the upper rail is matched to the optic format, such as ring mounts or platform-specific interfaces. The result is a system intended to simplify changes between day optics, red dots or other sighting solutions without turning the rifle into a permanent one-optic platform. In the Dentler lineup, BASIS is the straightforward modular option, while BASIS VARIO adds continuous height and windage adjustment for users who need more tuning flexibility.

About the Dentler Base rail BASIS - CZ 557

The Dentler Base rail BASIS - CZ 557 is the rifle-side foundation of the Dentler modular mounting system for the CZ 557 family and related compatible actions. It is intended for shooters who want a clean, rifle-specific interface rather than a generic rail solution. Because the base rail remains on the firearm, the rifle is always ready to accept a compatible Dentler upper mounting rail, which is useful when one rifle may alternate between a conventional hunting scope, a driven-hunt optic or another sighting setup built on the Dentler interface.

The rail is made from steel, which suits the job of maintaining alignment and resisting wear at the mounting interface. In practical use, that matters because the base is the reference point for every optic change. Its 4.00 mm BH height keeps the assembly low, helping preserve handling and allowing the optic to sit closer to the barrel line than a taller mounting solution. The matte black finish gives it a subdued appearance appropriate for hunting rifles and avoids unnecessary reflection in the field.

This model is also a good fit for users building around the broader Dentler BASIS ecosystem. With the correct upper rail, the same rifle can be configured around different optic types while keeping the lower interface consistent. That makes the base rail especially relevant for hunters who value a tidy rifle setup, repeatable mounting and the flexibility to adapt the rifle to different shooting distances or hunting styles.

About Dentler

Dentler Jagdwaffen was founded in 2011 by Daniel Dentler. Based in Leutkirch im Allgäu, Germany, the company focuses on modular riflescope mounting systems for hunting firearms rather than treating mounts as generic accessories. Its best-known systems are BASIS and BASIS VARIO, both built around the idea of pairing a firearm-specific base rail with an interchangeable optic rail.

This specialization has made Dentler particularly relevant to hunters who use more than one optic or want a structured mounting standard across different rifles. The company offers base rails for firearms from makers such as Benelli, Browning, Merkel, Heckler & Koch and Rößler, and its mounting rails are available for optic interfaces including Aimpoint, Pulsar, Swarovski, Zeiss and Weaver/Picatinny. That broad compatibility reflects Dentler’s emphasis on practical modularity within the hunting optics category.
