DD Optics Nachtfalke III 2.5-15x50

• 2.5-15x zoom range: This magnification span covers close woodland shots as well as more deliberate longer-distance shooting, so one riflescope can handle stalking, high-seat hunting, and open-ground use.
• 50 mm objective lens: The larger front lens supports a bright image at practical hunting magnifications, which helps maintain detail and contrast when light begins to fade.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The red illuminated reticle in the second focal plane keeps its familiar visual size across the zoom range, making it quick to pick up without changing the apparent thickness of the aiming point.
• Side parallax adjustment from 20 m to infinity: Fine parallax control helps keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane, which is useful for more precise shot placement at varying distances.
• 30 mm nitrogen-filled tube: The robust tube construction, together with waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof design, supports reliable field use in changing weather and rough hunting conditions.

About the DD Optics Nachtfalke III Series

DD Optics Nachtfalke III belongs to the manufacturer’s Generation III riflescope family, introduced in 2014 for hunting and sport-shooting use. This series was developed around practical field requirements rather than bench-only specifications, with models intended for low-light hunting, stalking, and driven hunts. Across the range, DD Optics refined the reticle design with a finer central crosshair and shorter outer posts, giving the sight picture a cleaner aiming point while still preserving fast visual reference in poor light.

Generation III models also brought an improved optical coating and were optimized around common hunting objective sizes such as 42 mm, 50 mm, and 56 mm. That makes the series broad enough to cover compact all-round riflescopes as well as optics with stronger twilight emphasis. In practical terms, the Nachtfalke III line sits as a versatile hunting series for shooters who want dependable mechanics, a traditional riflescope layout, and a sight picture tuned for real field use rather than tactical styling. The family’s design focus is clear: balanced magnification ranges, straightforward controls, and optical performance suited to changing terrain and light conditions.

About the DD Optics Nachtfalke III 2.5-15x50

The DD Optics Nachtfalke III 2.5-15x50 is built as an all-round hunting riflescope with enough range to move from fast, moderate-distance shots to more careful placement at longer distances. Its 2.5-15x magnification gives it a broader working envelope than a classic low-power woodland optic, while the 50 mm objective lens helps preserve image brightness for dawn, dusk, and shaded terrain. With a field of view from 13.50 m/100m to 2.20 m/100m, it remains adaptable as the shooting situation changes from scanning to precise aiming.

The scope uses an illuminated second focal plane reticle with red illumination, a layout many hunters prefer because the reticle appearance stays visually consistent as magnification changes. That makes the aiming image predictable at every zoom setting, while illumination helps the central aiming point stand out against dark game or cluttered backgrounds. Because the illumination is not intended for bright daylight use, the design remains especially relevant for typical hunting light conditions rather than crossover tactical use.

Mechanically, this model follows a practical hunting format with capped turrets, which protect the settings from accidental movement during transport and field carry. The side-focus parallax adjustment from 20 m to infinity adds flexibility for both shorter and longer shots, helping sharpen the image and reduce aiming error when distance changes. A 30 mm tube, fully multicoated lenses, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction complete a riflescope designed for regular outdoor use without unnecessary complication.

About DD Optics

DD Optics is a German family-owned optics company that says its optical-instrument business was founded in 2007 in Dresden, Germany. In 2012, the company moved its headquarters to Chemnitz, where it remains based. DD Optics develops and sells binoculars, spotting scopes, rifle scopes, and night-vision devices, serving hunting, nature observation, birdwatching, and general outdoor use.

Within sporting optics, the company is known for combining German product development with Japanese production on many binoculars and rifle scopes. DD Optics states that these products are mainly developed in Germany and mainly produced in Japan. Its product range also includes proprietary optical features such as DDlucid coatings, while some binocular lines use ED glass and Schmidt-Pechan prisms. For riflescopes such as the Nachtfalke III, that background translates into a focus on practical field optics with clear hunting applications and conventional, serviceable mechanical design.
