Dali S253H Thermal Monocular Product description

  • 384x288 thermal sensor: The higher sensor resolution in this model gives a cleaner view of heat signatures at distance, helping with target recognition and route scanning in darkness, brush, fog, or mixed backgrounds.
  • 35 mm objective with 1100 m detection range: This combination balances reach and portability, making the monocular useful for spotting heat sources well beyond normal visual range without moving to a larger handheld unit.
  • 50 Hz refresh rate: A faster image update keeps moving animals, vehicles, and people looking more natural, which makes panning and tracking easier during active observation.
  • HD LCD display with 1280x960 resolution: The detailed internal screen presents the thermal image clearly enough for longer viewing sessions, reducing the coarse look that can make handheld thermal devices tiring to use.
  • Photo and video recording: Built-in capture functions let the monocular document observations in the field, which is useful for inspection work, evidence collection, and reviewing what was seen after the session.

About the Dali Thermal Monoculars Series

Dali Thermal Monoculars sit in the brand’s outdoor thermal range as compact handheld devices built for hunting and outdoor observation. Within this family, DALI offers several monocular lines, including the IRtech-S25X series, which uses uncooled focal-plane-array detectors to deliver practical thermal imaging without the size and complexity of larger observation systems. The series is designed around simple handling and one-handed use, which suits scanning from a hide, checking fields and woodland edges, or carrying a thermal unit as a secondary observation tool.

Across the S25X line, DALI combines thermal detection with field-oriented digital functions such as Wi-Fi image transmission, hotspot tracking, picture-in-picture, and onboard photo and video recording. These features make the series more versatile than a basic viewer, because the monocular can be used not only to detect heat sources but also to document sightings and share the image to a mobile device. The series covers multiple sensor options, so users can choose between more compact entry-level performance and stronger detail for longer-range observation while keeping the same general handling concept.

About the Dali S253H Thermal Monocular

The Dali S253H Thermal Monocular is the higher-resolution version of this compact handheld format, pairing a 384x288 uncooled FPA sensor with a 35.00 mm objective lens for users who need more image detail than a basic 256-class monocular can provide. In practice, that extra sensor resolution helps separate animals, people, and background clutter more clearly, especially when scanning uneven terrain or trying to confirm a heat source before moving closer. With a stated detection range of 1100.00 m, it is suited to open-ground observation as well as general woodland and field use.

The optical setup starts at 2.00x magnification and extends to 4.00x maximum magnification, giving the monocular enough reach for deliberate observation without making the image overly narrow at the starting setting. Its 10.10 ° field of view, equivalent to 176.00 m/1000m, supports efficient area scanning, which matters when searching for movement or checking multiple heat sources quickly. A 50.00 Hz refresh rate keeps motion smoother during panning, while the HD LCD display with 1280x960 resolution presents the thermal image with enough detail for extended handheld use.

The S253H also includes practical digital functions for field work. Photo capture and video recording allow observations to be stored, while video output adds flexibility for external viewing or recording setups. Automatic and manual calibration modes let the user balance convenience and image consistency in changing conditions. With a 500.00 g body, 190.00 mm overall length, Li-ion power, and up to 5.00 h battery life, it remains portable enough for regular carry. Waterproof and fogproof construction further supports use in cold mornings, damp weather, and changing outdoor conditions.

About Dali

DALI traces its origins to the Zhejiang Provincial Testing Technology Research Institute, established in 1984. Based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, the company developed its expertise around uncooled focal-plane-array detectors, infrared thermal-imaging cameras, and related thermal systems. That background is directly relevant to handheld thermal devices such as the S253H, where detector design and image-processing experience matter more than conventional daytime optics heritage.

The company was restructured in 2001 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in February 2008. DALI’s work spans infrared core components, thermal-imaging systems, optoelectronic inertial-navigation products, and more complex optoelectronic systems. In the outdoor market, its range includes thermal monoculars, riflescopes, and binoculars, while IRtech is presented as a professional thermal-imaging brand originating from DALI. This gives the brand a technical identity rooted in sensor and system development rather than in general sporting optics alone.

When not in use . How do we leave the Battery. On a S 253 Fully charged. Recharge every 10 weeks ?? Or do I discharge it . Cheers

by Gus

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

We recommend charging the battery to its optimal level and recharging it when approaching the low percentage. However, it should be able to sustain power for more than 10 weeks when not in use. It is never recommended to fully drain the battery in any device.

Should you require any further assistance, we kindly ask you to contact us and we will be happy to help.

Kind regards
