March Genesis 4-40x52

• 86 mrad elevation travel: the Genesis external-adjustment design gives this riflescope unusually large elevation range, allowing ELR and F-Class shooters to dial far without relying on inclined rails, adjustable mounts or prism systems.
• 4-40x magnification range: the broad zoom span covers everything from load development and mid-range target work to precise shot placement at very long distance, so one optic can handle several roles on the same rifle.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: the reticle keeps its subtensions consistent through the magnification range, which makes holdovers and corrections accurate at any power while the red illumination helps the center stand out against dark targets.
• High Master optics with Super ED glass: this optical system is built to control chromatic aberration and maintain contrast at high magnification, which matters when reading mirage, spotting impacts and resolving fine target detail.
• Locking tactical turrets with Zero Stop: the exposed turrets are made for repeatable dialing, while the lock and zero-stop features help prevent accidental movement and make it faster to return to a known zero under match or field pressure.

About the March Genesis Series

March Genesis sits in the March lineup as a specialist family for ELR and F-Class shooting, built around a design that differs from conventional long-range riflescopes. The series was introduced with the 6-60x56 in 2018, launched in January 2019, and expanded in 2020 with the 4-40x52 Mini Genesis. Rather than relying on a typical internal erector system alone, Genesis scopes use an external-adjustment design in which the scope body tilts as elevation is dialed. In practical terms, this gives the shooter far more usable elevation travel while keeping the sightline through the central part of the objective lens at high elevation.

The series combines that mechanical concept with March’s High Master lens system, Super ED glass and a Temperature Anti-Drift Lens System. Together, these features are intended to preserve resolution, control color fringing and maintain a stable point of aim as conditions change. Genesis models also use first-focal-plane reticles and wide-angle eyepieces, which suit shooters who need accurate subtensions and a practical field of view across a wide magnification range. The family remains compact in number, comprising the 6-60x56 and 4-40x52 FFP models, both aimed at shooters who need extreme dialing range without adding extra mounting complexity.

About the March Genesis 4-40x52

The March Genesis 4-40x52 is the more compact Genesis model, but it keeps the defining feature of the series: 86.00 mrad of elevation adjustment. That amount of travel is the reason this riflescope stands out in the long-range and tactical optics category. It allows the shooter to stay within the optic’s own adjustment range for demanding trajectories, which is especially useful on rifles set up for ELR, precision competition or specialist target work. The 4.00 x to 40.00 x magnification range also makes the scope more flexible than many highly specialized high-power optics, giving a usable low end for finding targets and a strong top end for precise aiming and spotting small details.

Its 52.00 mm objective lens, fully multicoated optics and fast-focus eyepiece support a clear, practical sight picture across the zoom range. The 1. focal plane - FFP reticle keeps its scale correct at every magnification, so holds and corrections remain true whether the shooter is working at mid power or fully zoomed in. Red illumination helps the center remain visible against darker backgrounds, even though it is not intended as bright daylight illumination.

The tactical turret system is configured for dial-heavy shooting. Locking turrets, a Zero Stop system and 10 MIL or 50 MOA per turn make the scope easier to run when fast, repeatable elevation changes are part of the job. Side focus from 20 m - Infinity helps sharpen the image across a very wide range of distances, while the argon-filled, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction supports reliable use on serious long-range rifles.

About March

March is the riflescope brand of DEON Optical Design Corporation, a Japanese company established in 2004 and headquartered in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. DEON focuses on the design and manufacture of custom rifle scopes, and March products are assembled in Japan using Japanese-made components. The brand is known for specialist target and precision-shooting optics rather than broad mass-market lines, with families such as March-FX, March-X, Genesis and High Master.

March built its reputation by concentrating on high-magnification and long-range optics, beginning with its first 40×52 mm benchrest scope in 2007. The company later expanded its optical technology with Super ED lenses in 2017, and the High Master lens system combines Super ED and high-refractive-index elements to improve image quality at demanding magnification levels. Within that context, the Genesis line reflects March’s emphasis on unusual mechanical solutions for extreme-range shooting, especially its external adjustment concept.
