During our visit to Shot Show 2024, we made it a point to swing by the Aimpoint booth. As a well-respected manufacturer of red dot sights (RDS) in the market, their presence was hard to miss, likely due to it being one of the most crowded booths at the show. We had the opportunity to speak with Alex, who provided us with valuable insights into the latest additions to their product line which included new colors in the P-2 series, a 3X-P Magnifier and the New Acro S-2 RDS series.
The Features of Aimpoint Acro S-2
In 2017, Aimpoint introduced the Micro S-1, which quickly became a favoured RDS by many. Aimpoint’s lineup this year welcomes the Acro S-2, a new red dot sight for shotguns drawing from the second-generation Acro’s compact design.
They made some essential improvements which definitely play a role in the overall performance of the RDS. The mounting system has been enhanced, featuring reinforced carbon fiber for strength and a minimal optical axis height of just 15 mm. Moreover, the system is designed to attach directly to the ventilated shotgun rib.

In addition, customers will be happy to learn that the Acro S-2 now comes with eight interchangeable adapter plates, offering a wide range of mounting solutions. Upgrading from the first generation’s 6 MOA configuration, the S-2 steps up to a 9 MOA which is a welcome addition to the new series as it is a much bigger dot and easier to pick up. The Acro S-2 maintains a crisp, straightforward design, making it easy to keep a clear view and aim with both eyes open.

The Acro S-2 series impresses with its robust construction, yet it remains surprisingly lightweight at just 68 g (2.4 oz). Aimpoint claims the RDS can deliver up to 50,000 hours of continuous operation on a single battery, translating to over five years of use. The device is also designed to withstand the tough outdoor elements, being water resistant and capable of being submerged up to 5 meters (15 ft).
With 10 adjustable intensity settings, the Acro S-2 adapts easily to bright outdoor conditions, and the latest model introduces the option to add flip-up covers, an improvement which was not available in the first generation.

Available in February 2024
The Acro S-2 is set to hit the market in February 2024, priced at around 900 €. Aimpoint continues its tradition of offering a 10-year warranty for the product, providing customers with added confidence in their purchase.

We’re genuinely excited about Aimpoint’s decision to update and expand the S series, which has been well-received in the past. After testing the RDS during the industry day at the range, we are confident the Acro S-2 will match or even surpass the success of the S-1 series.
