Making the AEMS larger
During our visit to Holosun’s booth at Shot Show 2024, we were astonished to discover a wide array of new products for the year, ranging from prototypes to items ready for shipping. Among the new products, a standout was the AEMS Max – described by Andy from Holosun as a ‘behemoth’ in our discussion, essentially an AEMS enhanced to the max.
On our blog, we also covered other new products that Holosun presented at Shot Show 2024. Check out our articles on SCS-P10, SCS Carry, and HM6X magnifier.

In 2021, Holosun released the AEMS dot sight, introducing a fresh design to the market. This product rapidly gained popularity due to its durability and innovative design. Although it functioned well on AR platforms, there was a segment of customers who, believing in the ‘bigger is better’ concept, expressed a wish for a larger version. Responsive to customer input, Holosun launched the AEMS Max – a model that keeps the design and features of the AEMS but with a notably larger size.

Features of the AEMS
The housing of this device is crafted from 7075 T6 aluminum. Located on the top, the solar cell has been suitably expanded to fit the larger body size. Removable flip-up caps are provided, functioning similarly to those on the standard AEMS model. Battery installation is convenient, with the CR2032 being placed into a side-mounted tray. It features an integrated QD-Picatinny mount that provides a lower 1/3 co-witness with iron sights. AEMS Max supports a multiple reticle system, enabling the user to switch among a 2 MOA dot, circle dot, and circle only. The ShakeAwake function conserves power by turning off the illumination when stationary and instantly reactivating it upon movement.

The benefits of AEMS Max
The primary benefit of the MAX model lies in its exceptionally large field of view, boasting the largest window among all Holosun optics at an impressive 40 x 30 mm. Despite its size, the dot sight maintains a reasonable weight of approximately 220 grams, making it twice as heavy as the standard AEMS dot sight.

Expected in Q1 or Q2, 2024
For those who appreciate the AEMS design but desire a broader view, the AEMS Max stands out as an ideal option. According to details shared at Shot Show 2024, unlike the regular AEMS series, there won’t be a Core version of the Max. In the United States, the price for the red illumination version is expected to be around 540 $, while the green version will likely cost 570 $. The AEMS Max is anticipated to be available in the first or second quarter of 2024.
