Our Observations

With Hikmicro Thunder TH35C, the user has to long-press the on/off button for 2 seconds. After a few moments, the manufacturer’s logo appears. Next, the image appears, and the start-up timer stops (at approximately 6.17 seconds). At that moment, the device is unresponsive to the users’ actions, so we began pressing the ‘mode’ button, to measure the time when the device starts responding. While testing the Hikmicro devices, once the mode changes, the device is ready to be used and the second timer stops. But with this model, the mode changed once or twice before we could stop the ready-to-use timer. The reason for this is that once it changed the colour mode, the device suddenly became unresponsive again for a few moments. Therefore, we stopped the timer when it started working properly – at approximately 30.71 seconds.

The number of times we press the ‘mode’ button does not matter – a single press of the button is enough for the device to change it. Therefore, we pressed the mode button in longer intervals.

In this case, we tested the ready-to-use time with the press of the ‘monu’ button, as it was the most suitable. The device has a ‘zoom’ button that is not functional and to enter the menu, you have to long-press the ‘menu’ button. That is why we choose to press the mode button to accurately portray the ready-to-use time.

For the Hikmicro Thunder TH35C thermal device, you need 2 CR123A or RCR123A (rechargeable) batteries. The device supports 3V and 3,7V batteries. We used the Panasonic CR123, 3V batteries. Please note that the results might vary if you use different ones.

To turn the device off, the user must hold the power button until the device turns off.

Hikmicro Thunder TH35C also has a Standby mode. To put your device to sleep, you must short press the on/off button. Then, the countdown for 5 seconds appears, and the device enters standby mode. To use it again, you simply press the on/off button, and all features are available immediately.
