ThermTec Ares 335L 2.0 Product description

  • Integrated 1000 m laser rangefinder: measures distance directly through the scope and works with ballistic calculation, helping the shooter make faster hold decisions without switching to a separate device.
  • 384x288, 12 μm thermal sensor: balances detail, field usability, and manageable base magnification, making it well suited to spotting heat signatures and identifying targets at practical hunting distances.
  • NETD 25.00 mK sensitivity: picks up fine temperature differences, which helps targets stand out more clearly in damp air, changing weather, or cluttered backgrounds.
  • 35 mm F1.0 objective lens: combines a useful 3.20 x optical magnification with strong thermal intake, giving the scope reach for open ground while keeping a natural image scale for scanning and shot placement.
  • 12.00 h battery life with WiFi and recording: supports longer sessions in the field while still allowing video capture, image storage, and wireless connection for reviewing or sharing footage later.

About the ThermTec Ares 2.0 Series

ThermTec Ares 2.0 is a current family of thermal imaging sights introduced on September 10, 2024 and positioned as a versatile line for observation and night hunting. Within ThermTec’s thermal sight range, the series covers both standard models and LRF versions with an integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic calculation, giving users a choice between a simpler setup and a more complete shooting tool.

The series spans several configurations, including fixed 35 mm and 50 mm lenses as well as dual-field-of-view models, so the platform can be matched to different terrain types and engagement distances. Across the range, ThermTec uses uncooled 12 μm thermal detectors and applies AI-assisted image calibration designed to keep the image stable as environmental conditions change. That makes the Ares 2.0 line especially relevant for hunters who move between open fields, woodland edges, and changing night temperatures, where a stable image and predictable handling matter as much as raw detection range.

About the ThermTec Ares 335L 2.0

The ThermTec Ares 335L 2.0 is the laser-rangefinding version of the 35 mm model in the series, built for users who want a compact thermal riflescope with enough reach for open-country hunting. Its 3.20 x optical magnification gives a more natural aiming scale than lower-base thermal sights, which is useful when the priority is shot placement rather than wide-area scanning alone. Combined with a 35.00 mm F1.0 objective lens and a stated 1800.00 m detection range, it is configured for finding and engaging heat sources at medium to longer field distances.

The thermal core uses a 384x288 VOx uncooled sensor with 12.00 μm pixel pitch, 25.00 mK NETD, and a 50.00 Hz refresh rate. In practice, that means smoother viewing when tracking moving animals and better separation between target and background when temperature contrast is weak. The AMOLED 1024×768 display presents the image with good apparent sharpness, while the internal laser rangefinder measures out to 1000.00 m with +/- 1 m accuracy and feeds the onboard ballistic software for quicker corrections in the field.

The scope also supports practical day-to-day use beyond pure aiming. Seven reticles with illumination allow the sight picture to be adapted to different target sizes and backgrounds, while video recording, image capture, video output, and WiFi connectivity add documentation and sharing options. With 12.00 h battery life, power from an 18650 cell, waterproof and fogproof construction, and operation from -20°C to +50°C, the Ares 335L 2.0 is set up for extended hunting sessions in variable weather.

About ThermTec

ThermTec Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2011 and is based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. The company focuses on infrared thermal-imaging systems and solutions, with expertise that spans optics design, detector production, and AI-driven calibration. That background is directly relevant to products such as thermal riflescopes, where image processing, sensor performance, and mechanical integration all need to work together in the field.

ThermTec’s outdoor range includes thermal monoculars, imaging sights, clip-on devices, and multispectrum binoculars. The company also states that it uses proprietary NST algorithms and patented image-processing technologies, reflecting a development focus on image stability and practical usability rather than optics alone. In the thermal hunting optics segment, ThermTec is known for building dedicated observation and aiming devices around its own thermal-imaging specialization.
