Shilba Monocular Zoom 7-17x30 Product description

  • 7-17x variable magnification: The zoom range lets one monocular cover both general scanning at 7x and closer inspection at higher power, making it practical for travel, hiking, and casual long-distance observation.
  • 30 mm objective lens: This compact front lens keeps the monocular easy to carry while still gathering enough light for bright daytime viewing and clear detail in changing outdoor conditions.
  • Roof prism design: The Schmidt/Pechan roof prism layout keeps the body slim and easy to pack, so the monocular fits naturally into a jacket pocket, daypack, or glove compartment.
  • Fully coated optics: Lens coatings help reduce reflections and improve contrast, which makes distant subjects easier to distinguish and supports a cleaner image in bright daylight.
  • Waterproof and fogproof construction: Sealed construction adds reliability for field use by helping the monocular stay usable in damp weather, temperature changes, and everyday outdoor handling.

About the Zoom Series

The Shilba Zoom Series is built around a simple idea: give outdoor users a compact monocular with the flexibility of variable magnification. In Shilba’s lineup, these models sit as practical, easy-to-carry observation tools for users who want more reach than a pocket optic but less bulk than a spotting scope. They are well suited to travel, hiking, nature observation, and general outdoor use where low weight matters as much as usable magnification.

What defines the series is its combination of zoom capability, a slim roof-prism format, and straightforward handling. Rather than focusing on specialized tactical or long-range applications, the Zoom models are designed for everyday field observation, where conditions can change quickly and the ability to move from a wider view to a closer look is genuinely useful. Their compact dimensions make them easy to keep on hand, while coated optics and weather-resistant construction support dependable use outside. Within the broader Shilba outdoor range, the Zoom Series fills the role of a versatile monocular for users who value portability, adaptable magnification, and uncomplicated operation.

About the Shilba Monocular Zoom 7-17x30

The Shilba Monocular Zoom 7-17x30 is a lightweight observation optic built for users who want variable magnification in a compact format. At 7x, it is easier to scan landscapes, trails, or distant landmarks with a steadier image and a broader view. Moving up toward 17x magnification gives the monocular enough reach for checking details that would be difficult to resolve with a fixed low-power model. That makes it a useful choice for outdoor walks, sightseeing, and carrying as a secondary optic when full-size binoculars would be too bulky.

Its 30.00 mm objective lens balances portability with practical daytime brightness, while the fully coated optics help maintain contrast and reduce distracting glare. The Roof - Schmidt/Pechan prism system keeps the housing slim and straight, which improves packability and one-handed handling compared with larger porro-style designs. With a maximum field of view of 80.50 m/1000m, the monocular remains usable for general observation before zooming in for closer inspection.

The aluminum body adds durability without making the optic heavy, and at 160.00 g it is easy to carry for long periods. Waterproof and fogproof construction make it better suited to changing weather and temperature shifts, while tripod adaptability adds stability when using higher magnification for longer viewing sessions.

About Shilba

Shilba traces its origins to an optical workshop near Osaka, Japan, in 1960. The brand developed from a background in sporting optics, and an important early step came in 1975, when technicians from Argentina traveled to Japan to develop a riflescope intended for hare hunting. That connection shaped the company’s later direction in hunting and field optics.

In 1981, the owner of the Japanese factory sold the Shilba brand, its expertise, and its contacts to the current owners. Since then, Shilba has built a catalog that includes riflescopes, binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes, and scope mounts and rings. The company later expanded beyond its home market, beginning exports to neighboring Latin American countries in 2000 and entering the Spanish market in 2004. This background explains Shilba’s continued focus on practical optics for hunting, outdoor observation, and general field use.
