Rix Optics Storm S6R

• 640x512 thermal sensor: The higher-resolution sensor gives the Storm S6R more detail on animals, terrain and background heat sources, which helps with target identification and shot placement at longer distances.
• Integrated 1200 m laser rangefinder: Built-in ranging removes guesswork in the field and works with the ballistic calculator, making hold decisions faster when distance changes quickly.
• Compact 35 mm F1.0 objective system: The fast lens gathers thermal energy efficiently while keeping the scope short and light, so it is easier to carry on a rifle and practical for mobile hunting setups.
• AMOLED display with recording and WiFi: The 1024×768 display presents a clear viewing image, while photo, video and wireless connectivity make it easier to review shots, share footage and manage the scope through a connected device.
• 1 lb class housing: At 454.00 g and 135.00 mm long, the Storm S6R keeps overall rifle weight down and handles well on compact hunting rifles used for predator, hog and varmint work.

About the Rix Optics Storm Series

The RIX Optics Storm series is positioned as a compact and versatile family of thermal imaging riflescopes built for hunters who want thermal capability without the bulk normally associated with dedicated night optics. Within the RIX lineup, STORM sits as a practical series for field use, with models such as the S2, S3 and S6 and rangefinder-equipped R variants that expand the platform for different budgets and detection needs.

The series covers several sensor classes, including 256×192, 384×288 and 640×512 options, so users can choose between entry-level thermal observation and higher-detail imaging for more demanding identification work. STORM riflescopes are aimed at hog, predator and varmint hunting, where quick deployment, manageable weight and dependable thermal contrast matter more than oversized housings. Select R-designated models add an integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator, giving the series a stronger fit for hunters who need distance data and a more informed aiming solution in changing field conditions.

About the Rix Optics Storm S6R

The Rix Optics Storm S6R is the higher-resolution rangefinding model in the compact STORM format, combining a 640x512 VOx uncooled sensor, 12.00 μm pixel pitch and 20.00 mK NETD for a detailed thermal image with strong sensitivity to small temperature differences. In practice, that means cleaner separation between animals and background clutter, especially when conditions are damp, uneven or thermally busy. The 1800.00 m detection range gives the scope the reach needed for scanning open ground, while the fixed 2.00 x base magnification and wide 12.50 ° field of view make it easier to pick up moving targets at shorter to medium distances.

The integrated 1200.00 m laser rangefinder with +/- 1 m accuracy is one of the model’s defining advantages. It allows the shooter to confirm distance directly through the optic instead of carrying a separate ranging device, and it supports the ballistic calculator for more confident holds when shooting distances vary. The 35.00 mm F 1.0 objective balances thermal collection with a compact front end, while the 48.00 mm eye relief helps maintain a usable shooting position on centerfire rifles.

For day-to-day use, the Storm S6R stays notably compact at 135.00 mm and 454.00 g. That matters on lightweight hunting rifles where excess optic weight changes balance and slows handling. The AMOLED display with 1024×768 resolution provides a clear viewing image, and built-in photo capture, video recording, video output and WiFi connectivity add practical value for reviewing encounters, saving footage and linking the scope with a mobile device. Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction, operation from -20°C to +50°C, and power from a replaceable 18650 battery make the S6R a field-oriented thermal riflescope rather than a bench-only electronic optic.

About Rix Optics

RIX Optics is based in Richardson, Texas, United States, and focuses on the design and manufacture of thermal-imaging and night-vision optics. Its catalog covers thermal riflescopes, thermal-imaging monoculars and digital day-and-night-vision scopes, showing a clear specialization in electro-optics for hunting and low-light field use. Within that range, RIX organizes products into distinct families, including the LEAP series of thermal riflescopes with continuous optical zoom and built-in laser rangefinders, as well as STORM models that bring thermal riflescope capability into a more compact format. This product focus gives the brand a clear identity in thermal and digital sighting equipment rather than general sporting optics.
