Pulsar Axion XQ19 Compact Product description

  • Compact thermal format: The Axion XQ19 Compact keeps thermal imaging in a genuinely handheld, pocket-friendly form, making it easier to carry all day for quick checks, short stalks, and general field observation.
  • 384x288 thermal sensor with 17.00 μm pixel pitch: This sensor format gives the monocular enough detail for confident detection and scene reading while keeping the device small, light, and fast to deploy.
  • 18.00 mK NETD sensitivity: High thermal sensitivity helps the image stay informative in rain, fog, damp air, and low-contrast conditions where weaker heat differences are harder to separate.
  • 50.00 Hz refresh rate: A fast refresh rate keeps movement looking smoother, which matters when scanning woodland edges, tracking animals on the move, or following activity across uneven ground.
  • Magnesium housing with IPX7 waterproofing: The light but durable body resists hard field use and poor weather, so the monocular remains practical for hunting, wildlife observation, and general outdoor work.

About the Pulsar Axion Series

Pulsar Axion is a family of handheld thermal imaging monoculars built around portable scouting and observation. Within Pulsar’s range, the series focuses on users who want a thermal device that is easy to carry, quick to start, and practical for regular field use rather than a larger observation unit. The Axion line is intended for hunting, wildlife observation, security, and exploration, where fast detection matters more than bulkier equipment.

A defining characteristic of the series is that it works both day and night and remains useful in conditions such as fog, rain, and dense vegetation. Because thermal imaging reads heat rather than visible light, Axion monoculars do not need an external illuminator and are not dependent on ambient light levels. That makes them well suited to scanning hedgerows, woodland edges, tracks, and open ground where animals, people, or other heat sources may be partly obscured. Across the family, the emphasis is on compact dimensions, straightforward controls, and thermal performance that supports mobile observation in the field.

About the Pulsar Axion XQ19 Compact

The Pulsar Axion XQ19 Compact is the smallest-format entry point into the current Axion Compact line, built for users who want a thermal monocular that is easy to carry without giving up core detection performance. Its 384x288 thermal sensor, 17.00 μm pixel pitch, and 18.00 mK NETD combine to deliver a clear thermal image with enough sensitivity to separate subtle heat differences when weather and background conditions are less than ideal. In practice, that helps when scanning damp fields, tree lines, or brush where targets do not stand out sharply in visible light.

The 1.50 x to 6.00 x magnification range gives the device useful flexibility. Lower magnification supports wider-area scanning, while digital zoom helps inspect a detected heat source more closely without changing position. A 19.50 ° field of view also suits short- to mid-range searching, where covering ground quickly is often more important than high base magnification. With a 820.00 m detection range, the monocular is designed to pick up heat signatures well before positive identification distance, which is valuable for early spotting and route planning.

The compact body is matched by practical field features. A 640x400 AMOLED display gives high contrast and good perceived sharpness, while onboard photo and video recording adds a simple way to document observations. The magnesium housing keeps weight down to 250.00 g while improving durability, and the APS 3 Battery Pack supports up to 8.00 h of operation for extended outings. Wi-Fi and USB connectivity further broaden its role from simple observation to recording, sharing, and firmware-supported use.

About Pulsar

Pulsar’s corporate history dates to 1991, when a group of enthusiasts began making observation devices. The Pulsar brand launched in 2009 with the Digisight N550 digital night-vision riflescope, and it has since developed into a specialist maker of daytime optics, digital night vision, and thermal imaging devices. Pulsar is part of Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide, a high-technology group headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania.

In the thermal category, Pulsar has a long-established presence. The Quantum, introduced in 2012, was the company’s first thermal-imaging monocular, followed by the Apex in 2014 as its first thermal-imaging riflescope. Today, the brand’s range covers riflescopes, binoculars, monoculars, clip-on attachments, and multispectral devices. That background is directly relevant to the Axion series, which reflects Pulsar’s focus on practical field ergonomics, compact thermal platforms, and electro-optical devices built for observation and hunting use.
