Hawke Endurance ED Compact 8x25 Product description

  • Ultra-Compact Format — 310g and Pocket-Sized: At just 310 g and 80–114 mm wide × 108 mm high, the Endurance ED 8x25 is the most compact and lightweight model in the Endurance ED binocular range — small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and light enough to carry without noticeable added weight during all-day field use. The compact format makes it an ideal companion binocular for travel, hiking, birdwatching on foot, and any application where packing size and weight are a priority.
  • Extra-Low Dispersion Glass with Phase Corrected BAK-4 Roof Prisms: Despite the compact dimensions, the Endurance ED 8x25 retains the full H5 optical specification: Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass to reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing, phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms to maintain resolution and contrast across the full aperture, and fully multi-coated lenses for high light transmission throughout the field.
  • Wide Field of View for a 25mm Compact: The field of view of 119 metres at 1,000 metres provides a broad sight picture for a 25mm compact binocular, supporting landscape scanning and wildlife tracking without the narrow view typical of some compact designs at this objective size. The close focus distance of 2 metres extends usability to close-range subjects — birds at short distance, insects, and flora — without requiring repositioning.
  • Waterproof and Fogproof with Stay-On Lens Covers: The body is nitrogen purged, waterproof, and fogproof with a high-grip rubber-coated exterior — providing full field-ready weatherproofing in the compact format. Stay-on objective lens covers remain attached to the body during use. The twist-up eyecups and 13mm of eye relief accommodate both bare-eyed and eyeglass-wearing users at the compact eyepiece diameter.
  • Lightweight All-Day Companion: The combination of compact dimensions, low weight, ED glass, phase correction, and full waterproofing makes the Endurance ED 8x25 a practical all-day companion binocular — suited to situations where a full-size binocular would be too bulky or heavy to carry consistently, but where optical quality and weatherproofing remain important.

About the Endurance ED Compact Binocular Series

The Hawke Endurance ED series includes both full-size and compact configurations built on the H5 optical system with Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass and phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms. The compact sub-series — comprising the 8×25 and 10×25 models — is designed for users who want the optical quality of the Endurance ED range in a pocket-sized, lightweight package suited to travel, hiking, and casual field use alongside heavier full-size binoculars.

Compared to the full-size Endurance ED models, the compact variants are smaller and lighter, omit the built-in tripod mounting thread, and use a narrower eyepiece design with reduced eye relief. All other core specifications — ED glass, phase correction, waterproof construction, and fully multi-coated lenses — are retained across both compact and full-size configurations.

About the Model (Hawke Endurance ED Compact 8x25 — Green)

The Hawke Endurance ED Compact 8x25 is the most compact model in the Endurance ED range, designed for birders, travellers, and nature observers who want ED glass optical quality and phase-corrected prisms in a pocket-sized format. At 310 g and 80–114 mm wide × 108 mm high, it is one of the lightest and most compact 8× binoculars in the Hawke lineup, adding negligible weight to any kit.

The 8× magnification with a 25mm objective lens delivers a field of view of 119 metres at 1,000 metres — broad for a 25mm compact — and an exit pupil of 3.1mm suited to bright outdoor shooting conditions. The ED glass reduces chromatic aberration and colour fringing, while the phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated lenses maintain resolution and contrast across the field. The close focus distance of 2 metres extends usability to close-range nature observation.

The body is nitrogen purged, waterproof, and fogproof with a high-grip rubber exterior. The twist-up eyecups and 13mm of eye relief accommodate both bare-eyed and eyeglass-wearing users. Note that unlike the full-size Endurance ED models, the 8×25 does not include a built-in tripod mounting thread. Stay-on objective lens covers are included as standard.
