Crimson Trace LTG-770 Lightguard

• Model-specific trigger-guard fit: The LTG-770 is shaped for Smith & Wesson M&P Shield, Shield Plus and Shield M2.0 pistols in 9mm and .40 S&W, giving a secure mounted-light setup without the bulk of a universal rail unit.
• 110 lumen LED output: The white LED provides practical close-range illumination for low-light target identification, helping the shooter read shapes, hands and immediate surroundings more clearly.
• Instinctive Activation: Ambidextrous front activation works from a normal firing grip, so the light can be brought into use quickly without changing hand position under stress.
• Constant and momentary modes: The light supports both brief flashes and sustained illumination, which makes it easier to adapt to room searches, identification tasks and short defensive encounters.
• Polymer housing with rapid battery access: The ruggedized polymer body keeps weight low on a compact pistol, while the quick-change battery cap simplifies maintenance between carry or training sessions.

About the Crimson Trace Lightguard Series

Crimson Trace Lightguard is a family of firearm-mounted tactical lights built for low-light target identification on defensive handguns. Within the Crimson Trace lineup, the series focuses on compact, model-specific lights that attach around the pistol’s trigger guard rather than relying on a larger universal format. That approach keeps the package streamlined and helps preserve the handling qualities of popular concealed-carry and duty-style pistols.

Lightguard models use LED white-light illumination and are designed around the company’s Instinctive Activation concept, with controls placed so the light can be engaged from a natural firing grip. The series includes versions for pistols from SIG Sauer, GLOCK, Ruger, Smith & Wesson and Springfield Armory, with each model tailored to the host handgun’s frame. In practical use, the Lightguard range is aimed at shooters who want a dedicated pistol light for personal protection, home defense and low-light handling without adding unnecessary size or complexity.

About the Crimson Trace LTG-770 Lightguard

The Crimson Trace LTG-770 Lightguard is a short weapon light built specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield, M&P Shield Plus and M&P Shield M2.0 in 9mm and .40 S&W. Its model-specific shape wraps securely around the trigger guard, which gives compact Shield-pattern pistols a cleaner, more integrated light setup than many generic rail-mounted alternatives. For concealed-carry or home-defense use, that matters because the pistol keeps a compact profile while gaining practical white-light capability.

The light uses a 110 lumen LED, a level suited to close-range identification and navigation in dark interiors or around vehicles. Rather than chasing raw output, this configuration is aimed at the distances where compact defensive pistols are most often used. Instinctive Activation places the controls where they can be reached from a normal shooting grip, and the ambidextrous layout supports both right- and left-handed use. The addition of constant and momentary modes makes the LTG-770 more flexible in real handling, whether the shooter needs a quick flash to assess a space or steady light for a longer look.

Ruggedized polymer construction keeps weight down to 0.06 lbs, which helps preserve the balance of slim carry pistols. The light runs for over 1 hour on two 1/3N batteries, and the rapid-change battery cap makes routine replacement simpler. Altogether, the LTG-770 is a compact handgun light designed around fast access, low added weight and a close fit to the Shield platform.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and is known for firearm aiming and illumination products. The company makes firearm laser sights and firearm-mounted lights, with product families such as Lasergrips, Laserguard, Rail Master and Lightguard. It also offers riflescopes and rangefinders, showing a broader focus on shooting and field optics alongside its defensive-lighting products.

A defining part of the brand’s identity is Instinctive Activation, a control concept that uses pressure-pad placement intended to work with a normal shooting grip. That design approach is especially relevant in compact defensive accessories, where speed and minimal hand movement matter. Crimson Trace operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States, and its product range has built a strong association with handgun-mounted aiming and lighting systems.
