Zenit PO 5-20x56

• 5-20x magnification range: covers the transition from deliberate mid-range work to precise long-range shooting, so one riflescope can handle load development, target shooting, and hunting from open ground to more confined positions.
• 56 mm objective lens: the large front lens supports a brighter sight picture at practical hunting and shooting times, helping maintain target definition when light starts to fade.
• First focal plane reticle: the reticle scales with magnification, which keeps holdovers and ranging references consistent across the zoom range and makes corrections easier under field pressure.
• Tactical turrets with Zero Stop: the exposed adjustment layout suits repeatable dialing, while the zero-stop function gives a reliable return to the base setting after elevation changes.
• 34 mm nitrogen-filled tube: the larger tube supports generous internal adjustment and a robust build, while nitrogen filling and waterproof, fogproof construction help the scope stay usable in changing weather.

About the Zenit PO Series

The Zenit PO series is Zenit’s family of variable-magnification pancratic riflescopes, developed for hunting and sport shooting. Within the company’s optics catalogue, the PO line sits among Zenit’s riflescopes and mounting solutions as a practical series for shooters who need one optic to cover changing distances and target sizes. The series includes models such as the PO 3-12x50 and PO 5-20x56, giving the range a clear spread from general-purpose use to more precision-oriented applications.

A defining characteristic of the PO family is its emphasis on usable optical performance rather than minimal size. Zenit reports 90% light transmission for the core PO models, which suits low-light observation and careful shot placement. The series is also offered with multiple reticle patterns, including Z-MOAR-0 and Z-TMR-0, showing that the platform is intended for shooters who may prioritize either cleaner aiming references or more detailed holdover structures. Across the line, the design approach is straightforward: strong mechanical construction, variable magnification for flexible field use, and configurations suited to rifled firearms where precise aiming matters more than compact carry.

About the Zenit PO 5-20x56

The Zenit PO 5-20x56 is the more reach-oriented model in the PO line, built for shooters who need high magnification, a large 56.00 mm objective lens, and a reticle system that remains useful as distance increases. Starting at 5x, it is still manageable for deliberate target acquisition at moderate ranges, while 20x gives the precision needed for small targets, careful zeroing, and reading impacts or target detail more clearly. The stated 90.00 mm eye relief also gives the scope a practical margin on harder-recoiling rifles.

The optical layout is paired with a first focal plane (FFP) reticle and daytime-usable illumination. In practice, that means the reticle’s subtensions stay proportional throughout the zoom range, so holdovers and ranging references remain valid whether the shooter is working at lower or higher magnification. The illuminated reticle helps preserve contrast against dark targets or cluttered backgrounds without forcing the scope into a specialist low-light role.

Mechanically, this model is configured like a true tactical riflescope. It uses tactical turrets, a Zero Stop system, and 13.00 mrad of windage adjustment, making it suitable for shooters who dial corrections rather than relying only on reticle holds. Side-focus parallax adjustment from 50 to infinity helps sharpen the image and reduce aiming error as distance changes. The 34 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support field use where weather, recoil, and transport can all challenge the optic.

About Zenit

Krasnogorsky Zavod was established on February 1, 1942 in Krasnogorsk, Russia, and the Zenit optics brand is operated by PJSC Krasnogorsky Zavod, also known as KMZ Zenit. The company is based in the Moscow Region and works across several optics categories rather than focusing on a single niche. Its catalogue includes riflescopes and mounts, along with binoculars, magnifiers, and thermal television systems.

That broader optics background is relevant to the Zenit PO 5-20x56 because the company develops and manufactures hunting, sports, and special-purpose sights as part of a larger industrial structure. Krasnogorsky Zavod is part of Shvabe Holding, which belongs to Rostec State Corporation. In practical terms, Zenit’s reputation in this segment rests on producing robust optical equipment with a strong emphasis on mechanical durability and purpose-built sighting systems for sporting and field use.
