Schmidt & Bender 1-8x24 PM II Short Dot Dual CC

• Dual CC optical concept: This LPVO combines the speed of a red-dot-style sight picture at 1x with the reach of 8x magnification, making it practical for rapid target transitions up close and more deliberate shots at medium distance.
• First focal plane reticle with daylight-bright illumination: The illuminated red reticle remains usable in bright conditions, while the first focal plane layout keeps subtensions consistent as magnification changes for holdovers and ranging.
• Lockable tactical turrets with Zero Stop: The turret system is built for repeatable dialing and secure carry, so settings stay protected during movement and can be returned quickly to a known zero.
• Wide field of view: With up to 35.30 m/100m, the scope gives a broad sight picture at low power, helping maintain awareness in dynamic shooting environments and confined terrain.
• Compact, duty-oriented construction: A 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support reliable use in hard field conditions without adding unnecessary bulk.

About the Schmidt & Bender PM II ShortDot Series

The Schmidt & Bender PM II ShortDot series sits within the company’s PM and PM II family developed for police and military applications. The line was created around the need for a compact optic that can cover the gap between a pure reflex sight and a conventional tactical riflescope. A key idea behind the series is the Dual CC concept, which blends fast close-range handling with the added precision and identification benefits of variable magnification for short- to medium-range work.

ShortDot models are known for their 30 mm central tube, compact overall form, and illuminated aiming system intended for rapid engagement under changing light conditions. Within the broader Schmidt & Bender range, they serve users who need one optic for patrol rifles, tactical carbines, and other platforms where speed, field of view, and dependable mechanical tracking matter as much as optical clarity. The series emphasizes practical handling, robust construction, and a layout that supports both instinctive shooting at low power and more measured shot placement as magnification increases.

About the Schmidt & Bender 1-8x24 PM II Short Dot Dual CC

The Schmidt & Bender 1-8x24 PM II Short Dot Dual CC is built for shooters who want a true low-power variable optic that still offers meaningful magnification for observation and precise shot placement. Its 1.00-8.00 x magnification range allows the scope to stay fast and open at the low end, then shift into a more deliberate aiming role as distance increases. Combined with a 24.00 mm objective lens and a broad 35.30-4.90 m/100m field of view, it supports both close-quarters speed and better target discrimination farther out.

The reticle system is designed around practical tactical use. Reticle illumination is daytime-usable, which helps the aiming point stand out in bright outdoor light rather than only in dusk conditions. The scope is also configured with a first focal plane reticle, so the reticle scale remains proportionate to the target image as magnification changes. In practice, that means hold values stay consistent across the zoom range, which is useful when there is no time to dial corrections.

Mechanically, this model follows a duty-focused layout. Lockable tactical turrets help prevent accidental movement during transport or active use, while the Zero Stop system gives a clear return point after elevation adjustments. With 23.00 mrad of elevation and windage adjustment, a fixed 100 m parallax setting, and a constant 90.00 mm eye relief, the scope favors straightforward handling on carbines and tactical rifles. Its 295.00 mm length and 625.00 g weight keep the package compact enough for rifles that need to remain agile.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany. The company remains based in Biebertal and is known for building precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police, and military use. Within its riflescope lineup, the best-known families include Zenith and PM II, reflecting the brand’s long focus on both sporting and professional optics.

The company expanded its optical manufacturing base in 1992 by establishing a Hungarian subsidiary from an optical department acquired from MOM. Schmidt & Bender has also played an important role in illuminated sporting optics, with FlashDot illumination appearing in Zenith riflescopes from 2002. Across its range, the brand is associated with precise mechanical adjustment, durable construction, and optical systems designed for users who rely on repeatable performance in the field.
