Safariland 637 ALS Belt Slide Holster for Glock 17/22 PLN

• ALS retention system: The internal Automatic Locking System secures the pistol as soon as it is holstered, giving a higher level of retention without adding a strap or slowing the draw with extra motions.
• Open-top draw: The open-top layout keeps access fast and direct, while the thumb-operated release supports a natural, straight-up draw that suits duty, range and field carry.
• Low-profile belt slide design: This OWB holster rides higher and closer to the body than bulkier tactical rigs, helping reduce printing and improving comfort during long hours on the belt.
• Flexible molded body: The polymer holster body is shaped to hold its form yet flexible enough to sit comfortably against the wearer, which helps stability and day-long wearability.
• Tension-adjustable fit: Adjustable retention tension lets the holster be tuned to user preference, balancing security and draw resistance for training, professional use or general handgun carry.

About the 637 ALS Series

The Safariland 637 ALS series sits in the brand’s concealment-focused holster range, combining the company’s well-known ALS retention system with a slimmer belt-slide format. It is designed for users who want more security than a simple friction holster, but without the added bulk of larger duty or tactical platforms. That makes the series relevant for professional plainclothes work, range use, field carry and other applications where a stable outside-the-waistband holster is preferred.

A defining characteristic of the series is its open-top construction paired with an internal lock that engages automatically when the handgun is holstered. In practice, this gives the user a secure carry position while preserving a fast, instinctive presentation. The series also emphasizes a higher, tighter ride on the belt, helping the holster stay close to the body for improved comfort and a lower visual profile. With its soft, flexible body design and user-adjustable tension, the 637 family is built around practical wearability as much as retention, making it a strong fit for shooters who need a secure OWB holster that remains streamlined.

About the Safariland 637 ALS Belt Slide Holster for Glock 17/22 PLN

The Safariland 637 ALS Belt Slide Holster for Glock 17/22 PLN is configured for full-size Glock pistols and built for users who want a secure OWB belt holster with a clean draw stroke. Its main advantage is the combination of an ALS locking system and an open-top design. Once the pistol is seated, the holster locks it in place automatically; when it is time to draw, the thumb release supports a direct upward presentation without needing to defeat a strap or hood first. That makes the holster especially practical for users who prioritize both retention and speed.

This model also stands out for how it carries on the belt. The belt-slide layout and 38.00 mm belt loop compatibility keep the holster stable on common 1.5-inch belts, while the higher, tighter ride helps reduce unnecessary bulk on the hip. Although it is not intended as a deep-concealment holster, the close-to-body profile is easier to live with than larger external rigs. The polymer construction gives the holster the rigidity needed for consistent reholstering, while the flexible body concept improves comfort against the body during extended wear. A tension adjustment adds another layer of control, allowing the draw feel to be set according to preference. For Glock 17/22 users who need a practical hard-shaped holster with active retention, this model balances security, access and everyday belt carry well.

About Safariland

Safariland was established in 1964 by Neale Perkins, who began the business in Sierra Madre, California. The company developed around protective and carry equipment, and its range grew to include holsters, armor, accessories and communications equipment. Safariland serves a broad user base that includes law enforcement, military, fire and rescue, competitive shooting and everyday carry markets, which helps explain its strong focus on retention, durability and practical deployment.

Within the holster category, Safariland is particularly known for systems such as ALS, which uses an internal lock released by a thumb lever. That approach has made the brand a common reference point for users who need secure handgun retention without giving up a fast draw. Today, The Safariland Group is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and the brand remains closely associated with professional-grade carry equipment for service, training and field use.
