Recknagel 11 mm Dovetail Rail for Savage BBF 24 / 1

• 11 mm dovetail interface: This rail provides a straightforward mounting surface for optics that use an 11 mm dovetail, making it a practical choice for adding a scope to a Savage BBF 24 / 1 without changing the rifle’s basic layout.
• Model-specific fit: Built for the Savage BBF 24 / 1, it is intended to match the receiver correctly, which helps achieve secure alignment and consistent mounting for hunting or sporting use.
• Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight down while still providing the rigidity needed for a fixed mount base, so the rifle remains well balanced and easy to handle.
• Black finish: The black surface gives the rail a low-profile appearance and blends cleanly with modern hunting optics and firearm finishes.
• 0 MOA inclination: With no built-in cant, the rail suits general-purpose sighting setups and keeps the optic in a neutral position for typical hunting and sporting distances.

About the Recknagel Dovetail Bases Series

Recknagel Dovetail Bases are part of the company’s long-established range of mounting solutions for hunting and sporting firearms. The series is built around a simple idea: provide rifle-specific bases that create a secure dovetail interface for tip-off scope mounts, with each model matched to the geometry of a particular receiver. That model-specific approach matters in practice because it helps the optic sit correctly on the firearm instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all base.

Within the series, Recknagel uses separate front and rear bases rather than a universal pattern, allowing the system to be adapted across many rifle platforms from European and international makers. The catalog design also shows a 30-degree dovetail profile, reflecting the precise mechanical fit expected from a dedicated mounting system. In use, the series is aimed at shooters who want a compact, mechanically straightforward base for conventional scope installation, with an emphasis on secure engagement, clean integration with the rifle, and the low added bulk that suits classic sporting rifles.

About the Recknagel 11 mm Dovetail Rail for Savage BBF 24 / 1

The Recknagel 11 mm Dovetail Rail for Savage BBF 24 / 1 is a fixed mounting base made for shooters who want a clean, uncomplicated way to fit an optic to this rifle platform. Its main advantage is the 11 mm dovetail format, which supports a wide range of compatible tip-off style mounts and optics while keeping the installation compact. For a hunting rifle or combination gun, that compactness helps preserve handling and avoids adding unnecessary bulk above the receiver.

The rail is made from aluminium, which keeps overall weight low while still offering the stiffness needed from a base that must hold alignment under regular field use. That matters on a practical level because a lighter mount contributes less to top-heaviness and helps the rifle remain quick to shoulder. The black finish gives the rail a discreet appearance and pairs naturally with modern riflescopes and firearm finishes.

Its 0 MOA inclination makes it especially suitable for standard hunting and sporting setups where a neutral optic position is preferred. Rather than introducing built-in cant for specialized long-range correction, this rail keeps the sight line straightforward and versatile for everyday zeroing. As a result, it suits shooters looking for a dedicated Recknagel mount base that prioritizes correct fit, low weight, and a simple path to mounting an optic on the Savage BBF 24 / 1.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. Over time, the brand developed into a specialist in scope mounts, rails, sights, triggers, safeties, and related components for sporting and hunting firearms.

A notable part of the company’s modern development is the launch of the ERATAC line in 2010, which expanded Recknagel’s presence in tactical mounts and accessories. The company later broadened its hunting range further by adding silencers in 2016. Recknagel relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and the business came under the ownership of Dr. Moritz Fehrer in 2022. Across its product categories, Recknagel is known for precise, application-specific mechanical design made in Germany.
