Nikon Monarch M7 10x42 Product description

  • Wide 62.2° apparent field of view: The broad image makes it easier to pick up birds in flight, follow moving wildlife and scan large areas without feeling restricted by a narrow view.
  • ED glass with roof-prism coatings: Extra-low-dispersion glass, phase-correction coating and dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coatings help reduce color fringing and preserve contrast, so fine detail stays clearer in difficult light.
  • Long 16.50 mm eye relief: The eyepiece design gives a comfortable full view with or without glasses, which matters during long observation sessions in the field or at events.
  • Waterproof and fogproof construction: O-ring sealing and nitrogen filling help the binocular stay usable in rain, cold weather and rapid temperature changes, reducing interruptions when conditions turn poor.
  • Compact 10x42 format at 680.00 g: This model combines the reach of 10x magnification with a manageable full-size body, giving more detail at distance without becoming cumbersome for day-long carry.

About the Nikon Monarch M7 Series

The Nikon Monarch M7 series was introduced on September 22, 2021 as the successor to the MONARCH 7 line. It sits as a premium binocular series within Nikon’s sport optics range, aimed at users who need a wide, immersive view for birdwatching, wildlife observation, hiking, camping, stargazing and spectator sports. Across the range, Nikon uses roof prisms and ED glass to keep the binoculars compact while improving clarity and controlling chromatic aberration.

A defining trait of the series is its apparent field of view over 60 degrees, which gives a more open image and helps with fast subject acquisition. Nikon also equips the series with phase-correction-coated roof prisms and dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coatings to support image definition and brightness. Practical field use is further supported by oil- and water-repellent coatings on the objective and eyepiece lenses, a locking diopter adjustment and rubber armouring. The series includes 8x30, 10x30, 8x42 and 10x42 models, all built to be waterproof and fogproof with O-ring seals and nitrogen gas, giving users a choice between compact and full-size formats without leaving the MONARCH M7 feature set.

About the Nikon Monarch M7 10x42

The Nikon Monarch M7 10x42 is the full-size, higher-magnification option for users who want more reach on distant birds, game or landscape detail while keeping a broad, easy-to-use image. Its 10x magnification brings out finer detail than an 8x binocular at long range, while the 42.00 mm objective lenses maintain a useful balance of brightness, portability and steady handling for general outdoor observation. With a 121.00 m/1000m field of view and a 62.20° apparent field of view, it avoids the tunnel-like feel often associated with higher magnification binoculars, which is especially helpful when tracking movement.

Optically, the binocular combines ED glass with phase-correction and dielectric prism coatings to improve edge definition, contrast and color fidelity. In practice, that means less distracting color fringing on high-contrast subjects such as birds against bright sky, and a cleaner image when picking detail out of foliage or low-contrast terrain. The 4.20 mm exit pupil and 16.50 mm eye relief support comfortable viewing in mixed light and make the binocular easier to use for eyeglass wearers during long sessions.

Mechanically, the central focusing system gives quick, familiar operation, while the left-eye diopter adjustment lets the binocular be tuned to the user’s eyesight. The single-hinge body keeps the shape slim and easy to grip, and the rubber-armoured, nitrogen-filled housing is built for wet weather, cold mornings and repeated field use. At 680.00 g and 142.00 mm long, it remains portable enough for hiking and travel while still delivering the steadier handling expected from a full-size 10x42 binocular.

About Nikon

Nikon was established in Tokyo on July 25, 1917 as Nippon Kogaku K.K., and it adopted the name Nikon Corporation on April 1, 1988. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the company works across imaging products, precision equipment, healthcare, industry, components and digital manufacturing. In sport optics, Nikon’s range includes binoculars, fieldscopes and laser rangefinders, with binocular families such as MONARCH, PROSTAFF, EDG, ACULON and High Grade.

Nikon’s long background in precision optics is directly relevant to products like the MONARCH M7. The company introduced its MIKRON compact binoculars in 1921, and many of its binocular models use multilayer-coated lenses to improve light transmission. That combination of long manufacturing history and broad optical expertise has made Nikon a well-established name in observation optics for birding, wildlife viewing and general outdoor use.
