Meprolight Tru-Dot for Remington Shotguns

• Self-illuminated tritium sight picture: The green Tru-Dot system stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries, giving a constant aiming reference for defensive use, hunting, or moving through changing light.
• Three-dot alignment: The familiar 3-dot layout helps the eye center the front sight quickly, making it easier to acquire the target fast on a Remington shotgun at typical shotgun distances.
• Steel construction: A steel sight body stands up better to recoil, knocks, and hard field use than softer materials, which matters on working shotguns carried in vehicles, blinds, or patrol roles.
• Fixed, snag-free setup: With a fixed sight arrangement, there are no adjustment controls to catch or shift in use, keeping the system simple, durable, and ready for repeatable point-of-aim alignment.
• Always-on operation: Because the sight does not depend on switches or batteries, it is ready at any time of day and requires very little attention beyond normal firearm maintenance.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are built around a simple idea: provide a consistent three-dot sight picture that remains usable in both daylight and low-light conditions. Within Meprolight’s sight lineup, the series covers fixed, adjustable, and specialized variants for different firearm platforms, giving shooters a direct replacement for factory iron sights without changing the basic handling of the gun. The defining technology is tritium illumination, which creates a visible aiming reference without batteries or external charging.

Across the series, the emphasis is on practical shooting rather than complexity. Tru-Dot models are intended for users who want a familiar iron-sight layout for defensive carry, duty use, sporting firearms, and low-light applications. The design keeps the sight picture intuitive, while the self-illuminated dots help maintain alignment when ambient light drops. Depending on the model, the family includes different heights, adjustment types, and dot-color configurations, but the core character stays the same: durable metal construction, a straightforward aiming system, and dependable visibility when electronic sights are unnecessary or not preferred.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Remington Shotguns

Meprolight Tru-Dot for Remington Shotguns adapts the Tru-Dot concept to a shotgun platform where speed matters more than fine adjustment. Instead of adding electronics or changing the handling of the gun, it gives the shooter a fixed self-illuminated sight system that remains ready around the clock. That makes it well suited to defensive shotguns, practical range use, and hunting situations where light can change quickly and there is no time to manage batteries or brightness settings.

The sight uses a green tritium 3-dot arrangement with a U-notch rear sight, a combination that helps the front sight stand out clearly and supports fast visual centering. On a shotgun, that matters because target engagement is often immediate and instinctive, especially at short to moderate distances. The fixed design also suits the role: once installed on the correct Remington platform, it offers a stable, low-maintenance aiming reference with no exposed controls to shift under recoil or hard handling.

Its steel construction is another practical advantage on a shotgun, where repeated recoil and rough transportation can be hard on accessories. The black finish keeps the appearance subdued, while the self-illuminated system preserves visibility in dim interiors, at dawn, or at dusk. For shooters who prefer iron sights and want a robust upgrade over basic factory units, this Meprolight shotgun sight focuses on reliability, fast alignment, and simple operation.
