MAKlassic Front Pivot Base, Drop Barrel Guns 12 mm Rib

• Front pivot base for 12 mm ribs: This base is made for drop barrel guns with a 12 mm rib, giving the front section of a pivot mount the correct fit for break-action firearms where secure alignment matters.
• Steel construction: The steel body provides the rigidity needed in a mounting interface, helping the optic return to the same position after repeated mounting and dismounting.
• Part of the MAKlassic system: As a component in the MAKlassic pivot-mount family, it suits traditional hunting setups that value a low, elegant mount with the option to remove the optic when needed.
• 0 MOA inclination: The 0 MOA configuration keeps the optic on a neutral mounting plane, which is appropriate for general hunting and everyday zeroing distances without adding cant.
• Made in Germany: Built in Germany, this base reflects MAK’s focus on precise machining for mounts and mounting parts where fit between firearm, base and optic is critical.

About the MAKlassic Series

MAKlassic is MAK’s traditional pivot-mount line for rifles and break-action firearms, with the series documented in the company’s catalogues by 2019. The system is built around a two-piece pivot concept that suits hunters who want a removable optic mount without moving away from a classic firearm profile. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, the series is offered in model-specific configurations, including versions tailored to particular rifles and break-barrel platforms.

A defining characteristic of the MAKlassic series is its breadth of mechanical options. MAK catalogues list versions for scope tubes and optic rails, along with different mount heights and front-foot offsets so the mount can be matched to the optic and firearm geometry. The range also includes variants with rotating locks and lever locks, reflecting the series’ focus on practical field use. In effect, MAKlassic is aimed at shooters who want the handling of a classic hunting arm together with a detachable optics solution that remains mechanically tidy and purpose-built.

About the MAKlassic Front Pivot Base, Drop Barrel Guns 12 mm Rib

The MAKlassic Front Pivot Base, Drop Barrel Guns 12 mm Rib is a dedicated front base for break-action firearms that use a 12 mm rib. In a pivot-mount system, the front base is the reference point that guides how the optic seats and swings into position, so correct fit at this point is essential. By being made specifically for drop barrel guns rather than as a generic base, this part supports the precise interface needed for a clean installation and dependable alignment.

Its steel construction is especially important in this role. A front pivot base carries repeated mechanical contact during mounting and removal, and steel helps resist wear at the engagement surfaces over time. For hunting optics on break-action firearms, that matters because the mount has to remain consistent after transport, storage, and repeated use in the field. The black finish keeps the appearance discreet and visually in line with traditional sporting arms and scope hardware.

The 0 MOA inclination makes this base suitable for standard sighting setups where the goal is a straightforward optical alignment rather than a canted long-range arrangement. As part of the MAKlassic family, it is best understood as a purpose-built mounting component for classic detachable hunting optics, especially where a low-profile, firearm-specific pivot system is preferred over universal rail-based solutions.

About MAK

MAK is a German brand associated with Kilic Feintechnik GmbH in Schwebheim, Germany. The company develops and manufactures optical mounts, optics, and electronic products, serving civilian and government markets that include hunters, sports shooters, and professional users. Within its lineup, MAK is particularly well known for its mounting systems, including the MAKuick quick-release line and the MAKmilmont monoblock mounts for Picatinny rails.

Beyond mounts, the MAK Group also offers optics such as MAKdot red-dot sights, MAKstorm prism sights, and MAKpro riflescopes, as well as electronic products including the MAKcam. The group identifies patented solutions across its optics, mounts, and electronics, and it also develops standardized products alongside customized solutions for professional use. That background is directly relevant to a component like the MAKlassic front pivot base, where machining accuracy and system integration are central to performance.
