MAKlassic 2 piece Pivot Mount, Rotation lock, Merkel SR1, LM rail

• Two-piece pivot design: Separates the mount into front and rear elements for a low, rifle-specific installation that keeps the optic close to the bore and preserves handling.
• Rotation lock system: The rotating lock secures the scope in a repeatable position, helping maintain alignment when the optic is removed and reattached.
• Steel construction: A steel build adds the rigidity and wear resistance needed for long service life on a hunting rifle that sees regular field use.
• Merkel SR 1-specific fit: Built for the Merkel SR 1 Standard interface, this mount avoids the compromises of universal solutions and supports a stable, properly matched installation.
• LM rail compatibility: Designed for optics with an LM rail, it provides a secure rail-to-rifle connection without separate rings, simplifying setup and keeping the mounting system tidy.

About the MAKlassic Series

MAKlassic is MAK’s traditional line of two-piece pivot mounts for rifles and break-action firearms, with the series documented in MAK catalogues by 2019. The range is built around rifle-specific configurations rather than one-size-fits-all geometry, which is important for shooters who want a mount that follows the lines and mechanical layout of a particular firearm. Across the series, MAK offers versions with rotating locks and lever locks, along with configurations for both scope tubes and optic rails.

That approach places the MAKlassic family in the part of the lineup aimed at hunters and traditional sporting rifles where a detachable optic must still return to a consistent position. Different mount heights and front-foot offsets within the series allow the mount to be matched to the rifle and optic combination instead of forcing unnecessary compromise. In practice, the series is defined by a classic pivot-mount layout, model-specific fit, and a mechanical design that prioritizes secure engagement, repeatable positioning, and a clean installation on rifles that benefit from a low, well-integrated mounting solution.

About the MAKlassic 2 piece Pivot Mount, Rotation lock, Merkel SR1, LM rail

This MAKlassic mount is a rifle-specific pivot solution for the Merkel SR 1 Standard, built to accept optics with an LM rail. That combination makes it especially relevant for hunters who want the clean profile and repeatable handling of a dedicated mount rather than a generic rail adapter. Because it is a two-piece design, the mount integrates neatly with the rifle and keeps unnecessary bulk to a minimum, which helps preserve balance and access around the action.

The defining mechanical feature here is the rotation lock. In practical use, a rotating lock gives the mount a positive, deliberate closing action and helps the optic settle into the same mounted position each time it is fitted correctly. For a hunting rifle, that matters when the scope is removed for transport, storage, or a change of setup and then reinstalled with confidence in the mount’s consistency.

Steel construction further suits the role. Steel brings the stiffness and surface durability expected from a mount that must resist repeated locking cycles and field handling over time. The LM rail interface also simplifies the top side of the setup compared with separate rings, giving a secure connection for compatible rail-equipped optics. The result is a traditional hunting optics mount that emphasizes precise fit, mechanical security, and long-term robustness on the Merkel SR 1 platform.

About MAK

MAK is a German brand associated with Kilic Feintechnik GmbH in Schwebheim, Germany. The company develops and manufactures optical mounts, optics, and electronic products, serving civilian and government markets that include hunters, sports shooters, and professional users. Alongside mounting systems, the MAK range includes optics such as MAKdot red-dot sights, MAKstorm prism sights, and MAKpro riflescopes, as well as electronic products including the MAKcam camera for riflescopes and spotting scopes.

A notable part of MAK’s identity is its focus on patented solutions across mounts, optics, and electronics, together with both standardized products and customized solutions for professional use. Within the shooting and hunting optics field, that gives the brand a clear specialization in the interface between rifle and sighting system, where repeatability, fit, and mechanical reliability are central.
