HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Springfield XD

• Interchangeable LitePipe system: The front sight accepts replaceable LitePipes, so the sight picture can be tuned with different colors to suit lighting conditions, target backgrounds, or personal preference.
• LiteWave exoskeleton design: The diagonal-wave housing exposes more of the fiber to ambient light while shielding it from impact, helping the front dot stay bright without making the sight fragile.
• Factory-height front sight: Built to work with the factory rear sight, this model upgrades front-sight visibility without forcing a complete sight-set change or altering the pistol’s familiar point of aim.
• All-steel construction: A steel body gives the sight the durability needed for regular carry, range use, and repeated holstering, with better long-term resistance to wear than softer materials.
• Springfield XD-family fit: Designed for Springfield XD, XD-S and XD-M pistols, this front sight offers a model-specific fit for shooters who want a brighter aiming reference on compatible pistols.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

Hi Viz LITEWAVE is a handgun and rifle sight family introduced in November 2014, built around a simple idea: make fiber-optic sights easier to see, easier to adapt, and practical for real use. A defining feature of the series is its interchangeable LitePipes, which let shooters change sight color instead of being locked into a single configuration. That flexibility matters on the range and in the field, where lighting, target color, and background contrast can all affect how quickly the eye picks up the front sight.

The series is also known for its diagonal-wave exoskeleton, a housing shape that leaves more LitePipe surface exposed to ambient light while still protecting the fiber. In practical terms, that gives LITEWAVE sights a bright, easy-to-find aiming reference without making them awkward for holster use. HIVIZ positions the series for competition, recreation, education, hunting, daytime use, and low-light use, which explains its broad mix of front and rear sight options. Across the line, the emphasis is on visible sight pictures, durable construction, and straightforward upgrades for shooters who want faster front-sight acquisition from a compact iron-sight system.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Springfield XD

The HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, Springfield XD is a dedicated fiber-optic front sight for shooters who want a clearer, faster front reference on compatible Springfield pistols without replacing the entire sight system. It fits Springfield XD, XD-S and XD-M pistols and is built to a factory-height front sight profile, so it remains compatible with the factory rear sight. That makes it a practical upgrade for owners who are satisfied with their rear notch but want a front sight that stands out more clearly in daylight.

The sight uses HIVIZ’s LiteWave architecture with an exposed fiber path that gathers ambient light efficiently, helping the eye center on the front sight sooner during presentation and follow-up shots. Its interchangeable LitePipes add useful flexibility: different colors can be selected to improve contrast against varying targets or backgrounds, which is especially helpful for range practice, action shooting, and general field use. The supplied sight color is green, a popular choice for quick visual pickup.

Mechanically, this is a fixed front sight with all-steel construction, so it prioritizes durability and a stable zero over adjustment complexity. The steel body is well suited to repeated holstering and regular carry or training use, while the compact front-only format keeps the pistol’s handling familiar. For shooters using Springfield XD-platform handguns, this model focuses on one clear improvement: a brighter, more visible front sight that helps speed alignment without changing the basic shooting setup.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and accessories for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, the company is closely associated with highly visible sighting systems that use fiber-optic and tritium technologies for faster sight acquisition in a wide range of shooting applications.

Its catalog includes fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related shooting accessories, with product families such as LiteWave, TriViz, and CompSight. A notable part of the brand’s approach is the use of removable and reusable LitePipes, which allow shooters to replace or change fiber elements rather than treating them as fixed components. That focus on adaptable, visible, and durable sight systems has made HiViz a recognized name for shooters who want a practical upgrade over standard factory sights.
