Hawke Endurance 30 WA 3-12x56 Product description

  • 56mm Objective Lens for Low-Light Performance: The 56mm objective lens, combined with high-grade, low-dispersion crown glass and 18-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers high light transmission and a bright, high-contrast image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 18.7 mm at 3× provides a large, accessible sight picture at low power — a meaningful practical advantage during hunting at dawn and dusk, when ambient light is at its lowest and a bright image is most critical.
  • Ultra-Wide 24° Field of View: The H5 optical system delivers a field of view of 13.8 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification — a notably wide sight picture for a scope in the 3–12× class, supporting fast target identification and tracking in driven hunting, woodland shooting, and mixed-terrain hunting where game may appear quickly at close range.
  • Multi-LED High Intensity Illuminated Reticle: The LR Dot reticle centre is illuminated via multi-LED high intensity technology with 6 red brightness levels and off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat. This provides a visible, adjustable aim point across a range of ambient light conditions from overcast midday shooting to low-light hunting at dusk, without overshooting to a brightness level that would obscure the target background.
  • LR Dot Reticle Calibrated at 8×: The LR Dot is a second focal plane reticle with holdover aim points calibrated at 8×, the scope's designated reference magnification. At this setting, all subtension values correspond directly to the stated distances, enabling reliable holdovers at known ranges without requiring the shooter to dial the turrets for every shot — a practical design for general hunting use.
  • Capped Low-Profile Resettable Turrets: The capped, low-profile turrets offer 110 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments with a resettable zero. The capped design protects the zero from accidental movement during carry and handling — well suited to a hunting scope where the zero is established at the range and maintained through the season without regular field adjustment.
  • High Volume Eyebox with 102mm Eye Relief: The high-volume eyebox reduces the precision required for consistent head placement when acquiring a sight picture — a practical advantage in driven hunting or any fast-paced field situation where there is limited time to position the eye behind the scope. The 102mm of eye relief provides comfortable clearance across a wide range of rifle platforms and shooting positions.
  • Compact and Field-Practical Build: At 347 mm in length and 635 g, the Endurance 30 WA 3-12x56 is well proportioned for general hunting use, balancing the light-gathering advantage of a 56mm objective against a manageable overall size and weight for a rifle carried across varied terrain.
  • Sealed and Nitrogen Purged Construction: The 30mm aluminium mono-tube is fully sealed and nitrogen purged, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres — ensuring consistent function in rain, mist, and across rapid temperature changes in the field.

About the Endurance 30 WA Series

The Hawke Endurance 30 WA series is a range of hunting riflescopes built on the H5 optical system within a 30mm aluminium mono-tube chassis, designed for hunters who require a versatile, reliable optic for general use across a range of disciplines and distances. The series sits within Hawke's mid-tier Endurance product family, distinguished from the Endurance 30 FD series by its use of multi-LED high intensity illumination with a stepped rheostat control rather than digital fibre optic illumination.

All Endurance 30 WA models feature high-grade, low-dispersion crown glass with 18-layer fully multi-coated lenses, a high-volume eyebox, and 102mm of eye relief. The series is characterised by its ultra-wide 24° field of view at minimum magnification — a consistent optical characteristic across all models that supports fast target acquisition in driven hunting, woodland, and mixed-terrain scenarios. All models use capped, low-profile, resettable turrets and second focal plane reticles with holdover aim points calibrated at a specific reference magnification, suited to hunting applications where the zero is set at the range and maintained through the field season.

The Endurance 30 WA lineup includes four configurations: the 1.5-6x44 (L4A Dot) for close-range and driven hunting, the 2.5-10x50 (LR Dot) as a general-purpose hunting model, the 3-12x56 (LR Dot) for hunters who prioritise low-light performance and a larger objective, and the 4-16x50 SF (LR Dot and 223/308 reticle variants) for applications requiring higher magnification and side focus parallax adjustment.

About the Model (Hawke Endurance 30 WA 3-12x56 LR Dot)

The Hawke Endurance 30 WA 3-12x56 LR Dot is a second focal plane hunting riflescope designed for hunters who need reliable low-light performance and a wide field of view across a versatile magnification range. The 3–12× magnification range provides a 4× zoom ratio starting from a low 3×, giving a field of view of 13.8 metres at 100 metres — broad enough for fast target acquisition in driven hunting and woodland shooting — while the 12× upper end provides adequate image detail for confident shot placement at typical hunting distances in open terrain.

The 56mm objective lens, combined with the H5 optical system and 18-layer fully multi-coated lenses, provides high light transmission and a bright, detailed image throughout the magnification range. An exit pupil of 18.7 mm at 3× is one of the most practically significant specifications of this model — it ensures a large, forgiving sight picture at minimum magnification during the critical low-light periods of dawn and dusk that characterise the most productive hours of many hunting disciplines. The high-volume eyebox and 102mm of eye relief further support fast, comfortable acquisition from a range of head positions and shooting stances.

The LR Dot reticle is a second focal plane design with holdover aim points calibrated at 8×, the designated reference magnification. At this power, all subtension values correspond directly to the stated distances, enabling reliable holdover shooting at known ranges. The reticle centre is illuminated via multi-LED high intensity technology with 6 red brightness levels and off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat — providing a clearly visible aim point across a range of lighting conditions without the abrupt brightness jumps of a single-step switch.

The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets offer 110 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments. The parallax is fixed at 91 metres, suited to the typical engagement distances of a general-purpose hunting scope and removing the need for parallax management in dynamic field situations. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment to match the shooter's vision. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres. Overall length is 347 mm and weight is 635 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Endurance series is built on the H5 system, representing the mid-tier of Hawke's product range and covering riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders across a wide range of outdoor applications.

Most common questions (Q&A)

Need help? Not sure about something? Don't hesitate - ask our community! Our experienced community is here to help you with this question.

Hi I have a hawke endurance wa 30 3-12 x 56. Are there any scopes in the low light line up that will perform noticeably better in low light? Much thanks.

by Thomas

Dear Sir,

If you move higher in the price range, you will indeed notice better low-light performance, as premium optics feature higher-quality glass and coatings.

However, when the sun goes down, the difference is often only a matter of a few extra minutes of usable light, rather than a dramatic improvement.
That said, higher-quality optics also provide a sharper image and reveal more details on the observed object or animal, which can make a meaningful difference in low-light situations.

Best regards
