GRS Thumbhole, Tikka T3/T3x CTR

• Thumbhole Ergonomics: The thumbhole grip gives the firing hand a repeatable, relaxed position that helps steady the rifle in field shooting positions and during longer range sessions.
• Adjustable Cheekpiece: An adjustable cheekpiece makes it easier to align the eye naturally behind the optic, improving comfort and helping maintain a consistent cheek weld from shot to shot.
• Birch Laminate Construction: The laminate build combines rigidity with weather resistance, giving the stock stable handling for hunting use while retaining the solid feel many shooters prefer over hollow synthetic designs.
• Glass Bedding Interface: Glass bedding support helps create a more precise fit between rifle and stock, which can improve consistency and make the platform feel more settled under recoil.
• Field-Oriented Dimensions: With a 390.00 mm length of pull and 40.00 mm forend width, the stock balances control and carry comfort for stalking, woodland hunting, driven hunt use, and general field shooting.

About the GRS Thumbhole Series

The GRS Thumbhole series is built around GRS’s original thumbhole-stock concept and sits within the company’s laminate hunting stock range. GRS positions it as a stock for both field hunting and range use, combining classic stock lines with a more supportive grip shape for shooters who want a secure hand position without moving to a tactical chassis format. The series is made from birch laminate with an oiled finish, giving it the dense, solid feel associated with laminated wood stocks while maintaining the practical durability needed for regular outdoor use.

A defining feature across the series is GRS SpeedLock adjustment, which reflects the brand’s focus on adaptable stock fit. That makes the Thumbhole family especially relevant for rifles that carry optics, where proper cheek height can have a direct effect on sight alignment and shooting comfort. The series is offered in several color options, including Brown, Green Mountain Camo, Nordic Wolf, Orange, and Black, and it is made in multiple inlets for different rifle brands. Within the broader GRS lineup, the Thumbhole series appeals to hunters and recreational shooters who want adjustable fit, laminate construction, and a more controlled grip geometry in a traditional stock format.

About the GRS Thumbhole, Tikka T3/T3x CTR

The GRS Thumbhole, Tikka T3/T3x CTR is a laminate hunting stock designed specifically for the Tikka T3/T3x CTR platform, giving that action a more supportive grip shape and an adjustable stock fit than a conventional factory stock. Its thumbhole layout encourages a natural wrist angle and a more planted firing-hand position, which is useful when shooting from improvised field rests, from prone, or during longer sessions at the range. For a rifle that may be used across stalking, woodland hunting, and driven hunt roles, that added control can make the rifle feel steadier without making the stock overly bulky.

The stock uses laminate construction and weighs 1300.00 g, which helps provide a stable, substantial feel on the rifle while remaining practical for a hunting setup. A 390.00 mm length of pull supports a full-size shooting position, and the 40.00 mm forend width gives the front hand or a support bag a broad enough surface for controlled handling. The adjustable cheekpiece is one of the model’s most useful features in practice, because it helps the shooter maintain consistent eye alignment with a mounted scope. This is especially valuable on the Tikka CTR platform, which is often paired with optics for precise shot placement.

Glass bedding further supports a solid rifle-to-stock fit, and the stock is rated for cartridges up to .375 HH. The result is a purpose-built hunting stock that combines traditional laminate construction with modern fit adjustment for shooters who want better ergonomics from their Tikka rifle.

About GRS

GRS traces its history to 2010 in Grodås, Hornindal, Norway, while the family business behind it began earlier in 1983 as Grodås Møbler AS, a furniture manufacturer. That background helps explain the company’s strong emphasis on stock shape, fit, and handling. Today, GRS Riflestocks AS remains headquartered in Hornindal and focuses on rifle stocks for hunting and shooting.

The company’s range includes laminate, composite, and aluminum chassis designs, with product families such as Hunter Light, Sporter, Bifrost, Fenris, Warg, and Ragnarok. GRS is particularly known for combining ergonomic grip geometry with practical adjustability, including its GRS SpeedLock system used on several rifle stocks. It began producing laminate rifle stocks in 2011, and that category remains an important part of the brand’s identity. In this segment, GRS has built its reputation on stocks that bridge traditional hunting-rifle handling with more adaptable fit for optics-equipped rifles.
