EAW Roll-off Mount for Steyr SSG, LM rail

• Detachable roll-off design: The mount lets the optic be removed and reattached, which is useful when a rifle must switch between different sighting setups or be transported more compactly.
• LM rail interface: Built for scopes with an LM rail, this version provides a clean, secure connection without separate rings, helping maintain alignment across the full length of the rail.
• Steyr SSG 69 fit: This model is configured for the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69, giving a rifle-specific mounting solution instead of a generic compromise.
• Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight under control while still providing the rigidity needed for a stable optic platform on a precision rifle.
• Made in Germany: EAW manufactures this mount in Germany, reflecting the brand’s long focus on precise mechanical fit and repeatable scope mounting.

About the EAW Roll-off Mounts Series

EAW Roll-off Mounts sit in the manufacturer’s range as a more economical alternative to its pivot mounts, aimed at shooters who want a practical detachable mounting system without moving to the most complex design. The series is built around a simple idea: a scope should be removable and reattachable while the mount remains mechanically precise and straightforward to use. That makes the line relevant for sporting rifles, lighter firearm setups and rifle-specific installations where a compact, repeatable mount is preferred.

Within the series, one-piece and two-piece versions are available, along with models for different interfaces such as rail-mounted optics and common dovetail-based rifle connections. Some variants are intended for fixed installation, while others use lever-lock arrangements for repeatable attachment. Across the range, the emphasis is on practical fit, clean handling and the ability to tailor the mount to the rifle and optic combination rather than forcing a one-format solution. In EAW’s lineup, the roll-off family is defined by detachable use, broad compatibility and a design approach that keeps weight and complexity in check.

About the EAW Roll-off Mount for Steyr SSG, LM rail

The EAW Roll-off Mount for Steyr SSG, LM rail is a rifle-specific detachable mount made for pairing an LM rail scope with the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69. Its main advantage is not just that it holds an optic, but that it does so in a format matched to both the rifle and the rail-equipped scope body. That matters on a precision-oriented platform such as the SSG 69, where stable fit and consistent positioning are central to dependable shooting performance.

Because this version is built around the LM rail standard, it suits optics that use a rail interface instead of separate scope rings. In practice, that gives a neat mounting layout and supports even clamping along the rail section. The roll-off concept also adds flexibility for shooters who need to remove the scope for storage, transport or a change in sighting setup, then reinstall it with the same mount system. The aluminium construction helps keep the assembly lighter than a comparable steel design, which is useful when preserving the handling balance of the rifle matters.

With KR 0.0 mm extension, this model stays close to a standard mounting geometry, making it suitable where the optic and rifle combination does not require additional forward or rearward offset. Overall, this EAW mount is best understood as a precise mechanical interface: a dedicated solution for shooters who want a detachable mount for the SSG 69 and a scope with LM rail, without adding unnecessary bulk or complexity.

About EAW

EAW traces its origins to 1919, when Ernst Apel founded the company in Würzburg, Germany. The business later moved production to Gerbrunn in 1970, and Ernst Apel GmbH is now headquartered in Eibelstadt, Germany. Since 1951, riflescope mount development and production have been the company’s primary focus, which explains why EAW is closely associated with mechanically precise mounting systems for hunting and sporting rifles.

The company’s product range includes pivot mounts, slide-on or roll-off mounts and claw mounts, covering both traditional sporting applications and more specialised rifle setups. EAW also expanded its range with tactical mounting solutions introduced in 2023 and offers thermal imaging products alongside its established mount lines. In this category, the brand is known for German-made construction and for designing rifle-specific mounting solutions rather than relying only on universal formats.
