EAW Roll-off Mount for 14.5 mm Dovetail, 25.4 mm

• Detachable roll-off design: The mount lets a riflescope be removed and reattached, which is useful on combination guns or rifles that alternate between optics and open sights.
• Made for 25.4 mm (1 inch) scopes: This ring size fits many classic hunting optics, making it a practical choice for traditional riflescope setups.
• Adjustable windage: Lateral adjustment in the mount helps align the scope more precisely, reducing the need to use excessive internal windage correction in the optic.
• KR 10.0 mm extension: The forward offset helps position the scope correctly for eye relief and mounting balance on compact actions and break-barrel firearms.
• Aluminium construction: The lightweight body keeps overall rifle weight under control while still providing the rigidity needed for a secure optic interface.

About the EAW Roll-off Mounts Series

EAW Roll-off Mounts sit in the brand’s range as a practical alternative to its pivot mounts, intended for lighter firearm setups where dependable scope attachment matters more than added complexity. The series is built around a simple idea: a scope mount should allow the optic to be removed and reattached when the firearm or the hunt calls for a different sighting arrangement. That makes these mounts especially relevant for traditional hunting rifles, combination guns and other firearms that may still be used with iron sights.

Within the series, EAW offers both one-piece and two-piece designs, with versions for dovetail interfaces as well as Picatinny-based applications. The family is also used on rifles with integrated cylindrical or conical dovetails, showing that the concept is meant to cover a wide range of classic European mounting situations. Depending on the exact model, the system may use lever locks, pivot-mounted rings or prism-based upper sections. Across the range, the emphasis stays on repeatable attachment, straightforward handling and a compact mechanical layout that suits hunting optics without adding unnecessary bulk.

About the EAW Roll-off Mount for 14.5 mm Dovetail, 25.4 mm

The EAW Roll-off Mount for 14.5 mm Dovetail, 25.4 mm is configured for firearms with a 14.5 mm BRNO-style dovetail and for scopes with a 25.4 mm (1 inch) main tube. That makes it a natural fit for classic European hunting rifles and combination guns that are often paired with traditional 1-inch optics. The roll-off format is particularly useful where the shooter wants the option to remove the scope for transport, service or a return to open sights, while keeping the mounting solution mechanically straightforward.

This version uses an aluminium body to keep weight down, which helps preserve the handling of lighter rifles and break-barrel firearms. The adjustable windage feature is especially valuable on older or model-specific dovetail platforms, because it allows the mount to contribute to proper optical alignment before large corrections are dialled into the riflescope itself. In practice, that can help keep more of the scope’s internal adjustment range in reserve.

The KR 10.0 mm extension adds useful flexibility when setting up eye relief, especially with compact receivers or mounting positions that would otherwise place the optic too far back. Combined with the detachable roll-off concept, this gives the mount a clear role in traditional hunting optics setups: it supports a clean, low-profile installation while still allowing the scope to be taken off when the firearm’s use changes.

About EAW

EAW traces its origins to 1919, when Ernst Apel founded the company in Würzburg, Germany. The business later became closely associated with precision mounting systems for sporting firearms, and since 1951 the development and production of riflescope mounts have been its main focus. EAW developed its first riflescope mounts in 1945, laying the foundation for the product category it is still known for today.

The company’s portfolio includes pivot, slide-on or roll-off, and claw mounts, covering both traditional hunting applications and more specialised setups. Production moved from Würzburg to Gerbrunn in 1970, and Ernst Apel GmbH is now headquartered in Eibelstadt, Germany. Alongside mounts, EAW also offers thermal imaging devices, but its reputation remains strongly tied to German-made optic mounting solutions built for repeatable fit and practical field use.
