Dentler Base rail BASIS - Sauer 80/90

• Firearm-Specific Fit: This BASIS base rail is machined for the Sauer 80/90 platform, giving the mount a precise interface that helps avoid fitting work and supports consistent alignment on the rifle.
• Modular BASIS Interface: The rail works with the Dentler BASIS mounting system, so one optic setup can be moved between compatible rifles and mounting rails with a repeatable connection.
• Steel Construction: Built from steel, the base rail is designed for the stresses of hunting use, providing a rigid foundation that helps the optic stay secure under recoil and regular field handling.
• Low 4.00 mm Height: The 4.00 mm BH height keeps the mounting point close to the receiver, which helps maintain a compact rifle profile and can support a more natural sightline with the chosen optic.
• Matte Black Finish: The black matte surface keeps reflections down and matches modern hunting rifles well, which is useful when a discreet, practical setup matters in the field.

About the BASIS Series

Dentler BASIS is the company’s core modular mounting family for hunters who want a repeatable way to combine different optics with different rifles. The system is built around two parts: a firearm-specific base rail that stays on the rifle and an interchangeable optic mounting rail that stays on the scope or sight. This layout makes the series especially useful for shooters who alternate between day optics, driven-hunt sights or other aiming solutions without wanting a permanent one-piece setup on every rifle.

Within Dentler’s lineup, BASIS sits as the straightforward modular platform, while BASIS VARIO adds user adjustment for height and windage. The standard BASIS concept focuses on a precise mechanical fit, a secure locking interface and compatibility across a broad range of rifles and optic footprints. Dentler builds the system around robust materials and a practical hunting-oriented design philosophy: the base remains on the firearm, the optic rail remains on the optic, and the connection between them is made to be repeatable. For users of hunting optics and other sighting systems, that means simpler equipment changes with less disruption to the rifle’s handling.

About the Dentler Base rail BASIS - Sauer 80/90

The Dentler Base rail BASIS - Sauer 80/90 is a rifle-specific mounting base made for Sauer 80, Sauer 90 and Sauer 92 actions. Its role is simple but important: it creates the fixed interface on the rifle for the Dentler modular mounting system, allowing a compatible Dentler upper mounting rail to be attached securely. For hunters using classic Sauer rifles, this gives an organized way to modernize the rifle for current optics without giving up a platform-specific fit.

The practical strength of this model lies in its combination of steel construction, low 4.00 mm build height and compatibility with the Dentler Mounts Interface. Steel provides the rigidity expected from a base that must hold alignment under recoil and repeated mounting cycles. The low profile helps keep the optic closer to the bore line, which supports balanced rifle handling and avoids adding unnecessary bulk to the top of the action. The matte black finish also suits a field rifle by reducing glare and blending cleanly with common receiver finishes.

Because this is a dedicated BASIS base rail rather than a universal adapter, it is intended for shooters who value a clean fit and a modular optic strategy. In practice, that means the rifle can serve as part of a broader Dentler setup, where optics mounted on compatible BASIS rails can be paired with the firearm-specific base in a consistent, system-based way.

About Dentler

Dentler Jagdwaffen was founded in 2011 by Daniel Dentler. Based in Leutkirch im Allgäu, Germany, the company focuses on modular riflescope mounting systems for hunting firearms. Its best-known product families are BASIS and BASIS VARIO, both built around the idea of separating the rifle-side base from the optic-side mounting rail.

This approach has made Dentler particularly relevant to hunters who use more than one optic or more than one rifle. The standard BASIS system uses a firearm-specific base rail with an interchangeable optic rail, while BASIS VARIO adds continuous height and windage adjustment. Dentler also offers mounting rails for a wide range of optic formats, including Aimpoint, Pulsar, Swarovski, Zeiss and Weaver/Picatinny, reflecting the brand’s specialization in adaptable, system-based mounting solutions.
