Dentler Base Rail BASIS - Dovetail 10 mm

• Modular BASIS interface: This base rail forms the firearm-side part of the Dentler BASIS system, making it possible to move a compatible optic mount between setups with a repeatable mechanical connection.
• 10 mm dovetail fit: The rail is made for firearms with a 10 mm dovetail, giving a dedicated mounting solution without improvised adapters that can add complexity or compromise fit.
• Steel construction: A steel body provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed in a mounting base, helping the interface stay stable through repeated mounting cycles and regular field use.
• Matte black finish: The black matte surface keeps reflections low and gives the rail a discreet appearance that suits hunting and sporting rifles.
• Made in Germany: Built in Germany, this rail follows Dentler’s focus on precise, firearm-specific mounting components for users who want a clean and consistent optics setup.

About the BASIS Series

The Dentler BASIS series is the company’s core modular mounting platform for hunting firearms and sporting rifles. Built around a firearm-specific base rail and a matching optic-side mounting rail, the system is designed for shooters who want a structured way to combine one optic with different rifles or keep several optics ready for the same rifle. Its place in the Dentler lineup is straightforward: BASIS provides the fixed modular foundation, while BASIS VARIO expands the concept with additional adjustment capability.

A defining characteristic of the series is its emphasis on a precise mechanical interface rather than a one-piece universal mount. The base remains on the firearm, while the upper mounting component stays with the optic. This approach helps keep the setup organized, reduces unnecessary rework when changing optics, and suits users who run different sighting systems for different hunting or shooting tasks. Across the series, Dentler focuses on steel-based durability, firearm-specific fit, and compatibility with a broad range of optic mounting formats, making BASIS a practical choice for modular optics management.

About the Dentler Base Rail BASIS - Dovetail 10 mm

The Dentler Base Rail BASIS - Dovetail 10 mm is the firearm-side foundation for rifles that use a 10 mm dovetail. Its role is simple but important: it creates the correct lower interface for the Dentler BASIS mounting system, allowing a compatible Dentler upper mount to lock onto the rifle in a controlled and repeatable way. For shooters using a dovetail-equipped firearm, this gives a cleaner and more purpose-built solution than mixing generic clamp-on parts.

Because this model is made from steel, it is suited to the stresses placed on a mounting base, especially where secure clamping, repeated optic changes, and long-term dimensional stability matter. That material choice is particularly relevant on the base side of the system, where the rail must provide a dependable platform for the optic mount above it. The black matte finish keeps the appearance understated and appropriate for hunting use, while also matching the look of most modern rifles and optics.

In practical terms, this rail is best understood as the dedicated lower half of a modular optics setup. It is intended for users who want to build around the Dentler Mounts Interface and need the correct connection to a 10 mm dovetail receiver. Once installed, it becomes the permanent basis for adding a compatible Dentler mount above, supporting a more consistent and organized approach to optic mounting.

About Dentler

Dentler Jagdwaffen was founded in 2011 by Daniel Dentler. Based in Leutkirch im Allgäu, Germany, the company focuses on modular riflescope mounting systems for hunting firearms. Its best-known platforms are BASIS and BASIS VARIO, both built around the idea of separating the firearm-side base from the optic-side mounting rail.

This specialization has made Dentler particularly relevant to shooters who want a structured mounting system rather than a conventional one-piece solution. The standard BASIS concept uses a firearm-specific base rail with an interchangeable optic mounting rail, while BASIS VARIO adds continuous height and windage adjustment. Dentler also offers mounting rails for a wide range of optic formats, including Aimpoint, Pulsar, Swarovski, Zeiss, and Weaver/Picatinny, reflecting the brand’s strong focus on compatibility across modern hunting optics.
