Bushnell Trophy 3-9x50 SFP

• 3-9x magnification range: Covers the classic hunting span from closer woodland shots to more deliberate aiming at longer distances, so one riflescope can stay useful across varied terrain.
• 50 mm objective lens: The larger front lens helps maintain a brighter sight picture in dim conditions, which is especially useful at first and last light when game is most active.
• Second focal plane reticle: The reticle keeps the same apparent size through the zoom range, giving a familiar aiming view that many hunters prefer for quick target acquisition.
• Capped 0.25 MOA turrets: Protected adjustment caps help prevent accidental changes in the field, while quarter-minute clicks allow straightforward zeroing with common hunting ammunition.
• Fully multi-coated, nitrogen-filled construction: Coated lenses support contrast and brightness, and the fogproof, waterproof, shockproof build is better suited to changing weather and recoil.

About the Bushnell Trophy Series

The Bushnell Trophy series sits in Bushnell’s hunting-optics range as a practical line built around familiar magnification ranges, straightforward controls, and field-ready durability. In Bushnell’s 2023 catalog, the series included 3-9x40, 3-9x50, 4-12x40, and 6-18x50 configurations, covering everything from general big-game hunting to more deliberate shooting from fixed positions. The lineup was also offered with Multi-X and DOA 600 reticles, giving hunters a choice between a simple traditional aiming pattern and a holdover-oriented design.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on usable hunting features rather than target-style complexity. Fast-focus eyepieces help bring the reticle into sharp view quickly, while select models add side parallax adjustment for more precise work at extended distances. Bushnell also described the series with one-piece tubes, fully multi-coated optics, and Rainguard HD lens coating, reflecting a design approach centered on dependable visibility and practical weather resistance. In use, Trophy riflescopes are aimed at hunters who want a conventional optical layout, solid low-light performance, and controls that stay simple under field conditions.

About the Bushnell Trophy 3-9x50 SFP

The Bushnell Trophy 3-9x50 SFP is built around one of the most versatile hunting riflescope formats: a 3-9x magnification range paired with a 50.00 mm objective lens. At 3x, it remains manageable for closer shots and moving game in tighter cover; at 9x, it gives enough image scale for more careful shot placement across open ground. The larger objective helps the scope make better use of available light, which matters most during dawn and dusk hunts when contrast and image brightness become more critical.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, so the reticle appearance stays constant as magnification changes. For many hunters, that makes the sight picture easier to read quickly because the aiming point does not appear to grow or shrink while zooming. The scope also uses capped turrets with 0.25 MOA clicks, a practical setup for a hunting rifle that is zeroed once and then carried through brush, vehicles, and rough ground without exposed controls being knocked off setting.

Its fixed parallax arrangement keeps operation simple, while the 102.00 mm eye relief gives a comfortable viewing position and helps maintain clearance on recoiling rifles. A 25.4 mm tube, 405.00 g weight, and 305.00 mm length keep the scope in the traditional hunting format, making it easy to pair with common 1-inch rings. Bushnell also specifies 91% light transmission, a fast-focus eyepiece, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction, all of which support dependable field use in changing weather.

About Bushnell

Bushnell was founded in 1948 by Dave Bushnell and developed into a well-known American name in sports optics and outdoor products. The company’s range covers riflescopes, binoculars, red dot sights, rangefinders, spotting scopes, and trail cameras, with a strong focus on hunting, target shooting, birding, and general outdoor observation. That broad catalog has helped Bushnell build a reputation for offering practical optics across entry-level, mid-range, and specialized use cases.

Within riflescopes, Bushnell’s lineup includes families such as Legend, Prime, Elite Tactical, and AR Optics, showing the brand’s reach from general hunting optics to more purpose-built tactical models. Bushnell has also introduced proprietary technologies such as EXO Barrier, a lens coating designed to repel water, oil, dust, and debris. The company became part of ATK when Bushnell Group Holdings was acquired on November 1, 2013, but the Bushnell name remains closely associated with accessible, field-oriented optical equipment.
