Ansmann Alkaline Battery D

• D / LR20 size: The large D-cell format suits equipment that needs more reserve capacity than AA or AAA batteries, helping larger flashlights, lanterns and other power-hungry devices run longer between battery changes.
• Alkaline chemistry: This primary battery delivers stable everyday power for common household and utility devices, making it a practical choice where dependable output matters more than rechargeability.
• 1.50 V nominal voltage: Standard 1.50 V output supports broad compatibility with devices designed around disposable D batteries, so it fits straightforward replacement use without special charging equipment.
• Non-rechargeable design: A primary battery is ready to use straight from the pack and works well for emergency kits, backup lighting and infrequently used devices that need power on demand.
• German brand quality control: ANSMANN’s focus on tested battery products supports consistent performance for routine use, which is especially useful when powering devices that need predictable, trouble-free operation.

About the Ansmann Accessories Series

Ansmann Accessories covers the brand’s broader range of everyday power products and supporting essentials rather than a single specialist battery platform. Within that range, ANSMANN offers practical battery formats for common household and portable devices, including AA, AAA, C, D and 9 V sizes. The series is aimed at users who need straightforward, dependable energy sources for routine applications such as flashlights, toys, remote controls and similar equipment where easy replacement and broad device compatibility matter.

In ANSMANN’s lineup, this accessories family sits alongside the company’s rechargeable and charging products, giving users a choice between disposable and reusable power solutions depending on the application. The range is defined less by one proprietary technology than by clear format coverage, familiar battery standards and practical day-to-day usability. For larger cell sizes such as D / LR20, that means supporting devices that benefit from the physical size and reserve capacity of a full-size cylindrical battery, while keeping replacement simple for home, workshop and emergency use.

About the Ansmann Alkaline Battery D

The Ansmann Alkaline Battery D is a full-size D / LR20 primary battery built for devices that draw more power or benefit from a larger energy reserve than smaller battery formats can provide. In practical use, that makes it a sensible fit for larger flashlights, lanterns, clocks and other equipment that needs dependable output over longer operating periods. Its alkaline chemistry is well suited to general-purpose use, balancing everyday performance with the convenience of a ready-to-install disposable cell.

With a 1.50 V nominal voltage, this battery matches the standard requirement for a wide range of D-cell devices, so it works as a direct replacement without chargers, adapters or special handling. Because it is not rechargeable, it is particularly useful where immediate readiness matters: backup lighting, stored emergency equipment, seasonal devices or products that may sit unused until needed. In those roles, a primary alkaline battery remains a practical option because it can be kept on hand and installed quickly.

As part of ANSMANN’s battery range, this model focuses on straightforward reliability rather than specialist features. The D-cell format gives it a clear advantage in applications where physical battery size and longer service intervals are more important than compactness. For users choosing batteries by device requirement first, the combination of D / LR20 size, alkaline construction and standard voltage makes this ANSMANN battery an uncomplicated, compatible power source for everyday and backup use.

About Ansmann

Edgar Ansmann founded the company in 1991 in Assamstadt, Germany, where ANSMANN AG is still headquartered. The company focuses on battery, charging, drive-system and lighting technology, giving it a broad base in portable energy products and related electronics. That background is directly relevant to everyday battery products such as alkaline cells, rechargeable batteries and chargers.

ANSMANN has also invested in product testing and quality control. In 2012, the company opened an in-house UN test center, reflecting its emphasis on verifying battery products against transport and safety requirements. Alongside disposable batteries, its consumer range includes rechargeable cells and chargers in common formats such as AA and AAA, and the brand is also known for maxE, its low self-discharge NiMH battery technology. This combination of portable power expertise and in-house testing underpins ANSMANN’s reputation in the battery and charging category.
