TacStar Front Grip for Mossberg/ Maverick

• Integral action bars: This front grip is built with action bars for the Mossberg and Maverick platform, which simplifies installation and gives the pump a direct, purpose-built fit.
• Ergonomic finger-groove shape: The molded grip profile supports a more secure support-hand position, helping maintain control during cycling and reducing hand movement under recoil.
• One-piece reinforced polymer construction: The polymer body keeps weight reasonable while standing up to hard field use, making it a practical choice for defensive, training, and utility shotguns.
• Improved pump control: A dedicated front grip gives the shooter a firmer hold on the forend, which can help with faster, more consistent operation when running the action under stress.
• Made in the USA: Domestic manufacture and a straightforward design make this TacStar accessory a dependable upgrade for common Mossberg and Maverick 12 ga. pump shotguns.

About the TacStar Accessories Series

TacStar Accessories are built around practical upgrades for shotguns and rifles used in hunting, professional duty, and general utility roles. After Lyman acquired TacStar in 1997, the brand became part of a broader lineup aimed at tactical and law-enforcement markets, while keeping a strong focus on straightforward firearm accessories that solve specific handling and carry needs.

Within the range, shotgun grips, shell carriers, rails, slings, and brass catchers are among the core products. The series is known for functional designs rather than unnecessary complexity, with parts intended to improve control, ammunition access, or mounting options on widely used firearm platforms. TacStar’s well-known SideSaddle helped define the brand, but the series also extends to front and rear grips that address how a shotgun handles during recoil and rapid manipulation. For users who want rugged accessories for working guns, the TacStar line centers on durable materials, platform-specific fit, and simple installation.

About the TacStar Front Grip for Mossberg/ Maverick

The TacStar Front Grip for Mossberg/ Maverick is a dedicated shotgun forend upgrade made for Mossberg 500/590/600 and Maverick 88 12 ga. platforms. Its main advantage is not just the addition of a vertical gripping surface, but the way that shape changes how the shotgun is controlled during pumping, recoil recovery, and repeated handling. A firmer support-hand purchase helps the shooter run the action with more consistency, especially when the shotgun is used for defensive setups, range training, or hard field use.

This model uses a one-piece reinforced polymer construction with an ergonomic finger-groove design. In practice, that means the hand indexes in a repeatable position and stays planted more securely when the gun recoils or when the action is cycled quickly. TacStar also designed the Mossberg/Maverick version with integral action bars, which is an important model-specific feature because it creates a direct replacement unit rather than a more improvised add-on. That helps keep installation straightforward and preserves a solid connection between the grip and the action.

For shooters building a practical pump shotgun, this TacStar shotgun grip focuses on control and handling rather than cosmetic change. The black polymer finish suits working firearms, and the USA-made construction fits the product’s role as a durable accessory for a commonly used shotgun platform.

About TacStar

TacStar is a firearm-accessories brand within the Lyman family, and it joined Lyman in 1997 as part of an expansion into tactical and law-enforcement markets. The brand is closely associated with practical shotgun accessories, especially its patented SideSaddle shell carrier, and it has continued to develop products for hunters, military users, and law-enforcement professionals.

The TacStar catalog covers a focused range of firearm accessories, including shotgun front and rear grips, magazine extensions, weapon-light systems, slings, rail mounts, and a universal brass catcher. That specialization is relevant here because TacStar products are generally designed around familiar firearm platforms and real handling needs rather than broad, one-size-fits-all concepts. In the shotgun category, the brand has built its reputation on simple, rugged parts that improve control, carrying, and accessory mounting.
