Shilba Safari Max 1.5-6x24

• 1.5-6x variable magnification: Covers true close-range work at the low end and still provides enough reach for short- to medium-range hunting, so one riflescope can handle fast shots in cover and more deliberate aiming in open ground.
• 24 mm objective with wide low-power handling: The compact front lens keeps the scope trim and easy to mount while supporting the fast target acquisition expected from a low-magnification hunting riflescope.
• Illuminated reticle: The lit aiming point stands out better against dark game, shaded woodland, or low-contrast backgrounds, helping the eye pick up the reticle more quickly when light is poor.
• 30 mm main tube: A larger tube gives the scope a robust platform and pairs well with hunting rifles that need dependable mechanical stability under regular field use.
• Capped multi-turn turrets: The capped design protects settings from accidental movement during transport or stalking, making it better suited to practical hunting use than exposed target-style controls.

About the Shilba Safari Series

The Shilba Safari series is built as a practical hunting riflescope family with both fixed- and variable-magnification models, giving shooters options for everything from straightforward stand hunting to faster shooting at shorter distances. Within the line, Shilba has offered versions such as the Safari Max, Safari RD30, and fixed 6x44 models, showing that the series is meant to cover different hunting styles rather than a single narrow role.

A defining trait of the Safari family is its emphasis on field-friendly configurations. Older Safari models included features such as 30 mm tubes, illuminated red-dot style reticles on selected versions, and on some variants diopter and parallax correction together with nitrogen sealing and Hi-Resolution II lenses. That combination places the series in the traditional hunting optics category: simple to operate, compact enough for carrying rifles in the field, and focused on clear aiming rather than benchrest-style complexity. In practice, the Safari line suits hunters who want familiar controls, useful magnification ranges, and reticle options that remain easy to see in changing light.

About the Shilba Safari Max 1.5-6x24

The Shilba Safari Max 1.5-6x24 is a compact low-magnification hunting riflescope designed for situations where speed matters as much as precision. Its 1.5-6x zoom range makes it especially well suited to driven hunting, woodland stalking, and short- to medium-range shooting, where the shooter may need to move quickly from a broad field of view at low power to a more precise sight picture at higher magnification. The 24 mm objective keeps the scope slim and easy to balance on a hunting rifle, which is useful when the rifle is carried for long periods or brought to the shoulder in a hurry.

The illuminated reticle is one of the model’s most important practical features. In real hunting conditions, reticles can disappear against dark fur, shadowed brush, or mixed backgrounds near dawn and dusk; illumination helps the aiming point remain visible without forcing the shooter to over-focus on the reticle itself. The 30 mm tube gives the scope a sturdy overall structure, while the capped turrets favor reliability in the field by shielding adjustments from knocks and unintended movement. This is a more sensible arrangement for a hunting optic than exposed dialing turrets when the priority is to keep zero protected during transport, stalking, and repeated handling. At 320.00 mm and 500.00 g, the scope remains manageable on a wide range of sporting rifles.

About Shilba

Shilba traces its origins to 1960, when the brand began in an optical workshop near Osaka, Japan. That background in traditional optics remains central to the company’s identity. In 1981, the original Japanese factory owner sold the Shilba brand, its expertise, and its commercial contacts to the current owners, allowing the name to continue while expanding into broader markets. Shilba’s catalog covers riflescopes, binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes, and scope mounts and rings, showing a clear specialization in sporting and field optics.

The company’s riflescope history is closely tied to practical hunting use. In 1975, technicians from Argentina traveled to Japan to develop a riflescope intended for hare hunting, and Shilba’s first 4×32 and 4×40 riflescope models sold out quickly in their initial production run. Shilba later expanded its export activity into neighboring Latin American countries in 2000 and began marketing products in Spain in 2004. That history gives the brand a long-standing connection to accessible, field-oriented hunting optics.
