Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield TD XDM and XDS

• Self-illuminated tritium dots: the three-dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive or duty use at any hour.
• Fixed sight configuration: a non-adjustable setup keeps the profile simple and durable, which suits everyday carry and service pistols that need dependable zero retention.
• Green dot sight picture: the consistent green aiming reference is easy to pick up quickly, helping faster front-sight acquisition during close-range shooting.
• Direct replacement design: Tru-Dot sights are built as an upgrade to factory sights on compatible Springfield pistols, giving a clearer low-light aiming reference without changing the handgun’s handling.
• Battery-free operation: with no switches or power source to manage, the sights reduce maintenance and remain continuously available for training, carry, or home defense.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established line of self-illuminated handgun night sights, built for shooters who want a simple sighting system that works in both daylight and reduced light. The series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, covering a wide range of handgun platforms and use cases. Across the line, the core idea remains the same: a familiar three-dot arrangement that preserves a consistent sight picture whether the pistol is used on the range, carried daily, or kept for defensive use.

A defining feature of the series is its tritium-based illumination, which provides a visible aiming reference in darkness without batteries. That makes Tru-Dot sights especially practical on handguns that may spend long periods holstered or stored but still need to be ready immediately. The family is also designed as a replacement for factory front and rear sights on compatible pistols, so it appeals to shooters who want improved low-light capability without moving to electronic optics. Within Meprolight’s handgun catalog, Tru-Dot sits as a straightforward, durable iron-sight option focused on reliability, fast alignment, and everyday usability.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield TD XDM and XDS

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield TD XDM and XDS is a dedicated night sight set for shooters who want to keep the handling and simplicity of iron sights while gaining a clear aiming reference in poor light. Its biggest advantage is the self-illuminated three-dot layout, which remains visible without batteries or activation steps. For a defensive or carry pistol, that matters because the sight picture is available immediately, whether the handgun is drawn in daylight, indoors, or after dark.

This model uses a fixed sight arrangement, which favors durability and a clean profile over user-adjustable controls. On pistols such as the Springfield XDM and XDS, that makes sense for practical use: the sights stay streamlined, resist snagging, and support dependable zero retention under regular carry and training. The green tritium dots help the eye pick up the alignment quickly, which can shorten the time needed to confirm the front sight during close and fast shooting.

Because it is built as a replacement sight set for compatible Springfield pistols, this Tru-Dot model preserves the familiar feel of the handgun while adding meaningful low-light capability. The result is a sighting system that suits concealed carry, home defense, and service-style use, especially for shooters who prefer the ruggedness and constant readiness of traditional iron sights over electronic solutions.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. Its product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, and thermal sights, along with systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines.

As a division of SK Group, Meprolight has built its reputation around practical sighting equipment designed for hard use. That background is especially relevant in the handgun sight category, where durability, immediate readiness, and low-light visibility are central requirements. The company’s long involvement in both iron sights and electronic aiming systems gives products such as the Tru-Dot series a clear focus on functional design rather than unnecessary complexity.
