Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer in .40 & 45 ACP

• Self-illuminated tritium system: the sights stay visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive, duty, or carry use at any hour.
• Three-dot sight picture: the familiar front-and-rear dot arrangement helps the eye align the sights quickly, which supports faster target acquisition under stress.
• Steel construction: a steel sight body stands up to repeated holstering, recoil, and daily carry wear better than softer materials, helping the zero stay consistent.
• Fixed sight design: the fixed setup keeps the system simple and robust, making it well suited to service pistols where reliability matters more than frequent adjustment.
• Direct replacement format: Tru-Dot sights are made as replacement front and rear sights for compatible pistols, giving a practical upgrade from standard factory sights without changing the handling of the handgun.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is Meprolight’s established family of self-illuminated handgun sights, built around a simple idea: keep the sight picture familiar in daylight while preserving visibility when ambient light drops. The series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, which places it as a broad pistol-sight line for shooters who want a traditional iron-sight format with low-light capability. Across the range, the defining feature is the three-dot aiming layout, designed to remain easy to interpret in both bright and dark conditions.

Tru-Dot models use tritium illumination, so they do not rely on batteries, switches, or charging routines. That makes the series especially relevant for defensive handguns, duty pistols, and everyday carry guns that may be stored, carried, and drawn at unpredictable times. The family also covers multiple handgun platforms from different manufacturers, and selected versions are offered with different tritium dot color combinations. In practical terms, the series is aimed at shooters who want a durable replacement for factory sights, a consistent sight picture, and a low-maintenance setup that supports fast alignment without changing the basic handling of the pistol.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer in .40 & 45 ACP

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer in .40 & 45 ACP is a fixed tritium night sight set built for shooters who want a dependable iron-sight upgrade on compatible Sig Sauer pistols chambered in larger service calibers. Its role is straightforward: provide a clear, always-available sight reference for carry, home defense, and duty-style use, where lighting conditions can change quickly and there is no time to manage batteries or electronic controls.

The sight system uses a self-illuminated three-dot arrangement, which helps the shooter pick up the front sight and align the rear sight quickly in dim interiors, outdoor twilight, or nighttime conditions. Because the dots remain visible without external power, the pistol stays ready after long storage periods or daily carry. The square rear sight gives a conventional sight picture that many shooters already know well, which reduces the learning curve and supports instinctive alignment.

Its steel construction is important on a working handgun, especially one chambered in .40 S&W or .45 ACP, where repeated recoil, holster contact, and hard use place more demand on the sight body. The fixed design also favors durability and consistency over extra complexity. For shooters who prefer a traditional sighting system but need dependable low-light capability, this Tru-Dot set offers a practical balance of speed, ruggedness, and minimal maintenance.
