Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr 9mm & .40

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The green tritium dots stay visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the sight picture is available whenever the pistol is drawn.
• Three-Dot Alignment: The fixed 3-dot layout gives a familiar reference in daylight and darkness, helping the shooter confirm front-to-rear alignment quickly.
• Steel Construction: A steel sight body stands up to daily carry, slide movement, and repeated handling better than softer materials, which matters on a hard-used defensive pistol.
• Fixed Sight Setup: The fixed configuration keeps the system simple and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift during routine carry or holster use.
• Kahr-Specific Fit: Built for Kahr 9mm & .40 pistols, this sight set is intended as a direct replacement for the factory sights, making it a practical upgrade for carry or defensive use.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established family of self-illuminated handgun night sights, built around a simple goal: keep the sight picture consistent from bright daylight to low-light conditions. In the current handgun range, the series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height versions, with model-specific fits for pistols from multiple manufacturers. That broad fitment makes Tru-Dot a practical line for shooters who want the same basic sighting concept across different carry, duty, or range handguns.

The defining feature of the series is its tritium-powered three-dot sight picture. Because the illumination does not rely on batteries, the sights remain ready at all times and require no activation before use. Depending on the model, the line also includes different tritium dot color combinations and, in adjustable variants, rear sights with windage and elevation adjustment. Across the range, the design philosophy stays straightforward: durable replacement sights that preserve a familiar iron-sight presentation while improving visibility when ambient light drops. That makes the Tru-Dot family especially relevant for defensive pistols, concealed-carry handguns, and service sidearms that may need to perform in changing light.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr 9mm & .40

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr 9mm & .40 is a fixed tritium night sight set made for shooters who want a more usable iron-sight picture on a compatible Kahr pistol without adding complexity. Its role is straightforward: provide a clear aiming reference on compact defensive handguns that may be carried daily and used in lighting conditions where standard black sights become slow to read. The green self-illuminated dots help the sights remain visible after dark, while the conventional three-dot layout keeps the presentation familiar for shooters already accustomed to standard pistol irons.

This model uses a square rear sight paired with a 3-dot alignment, a combination that supports quick front-sight indexing and easy left-right centering. In practical terms, that matters most at defensive distances, where a clean and instantly recognizable sight picture can reduce hesitation. Because the system is fixed, there are no exposed adjustment elements to complicate carry use or introduce unnecessary bulk. The all-steel construction also suits the repeated slide cycling, holster contact, and general wear that a carry pistol sees over time.

At 100.00 g, the sight set remains a compact upgrade focused on durability and visibility rather than added features. For Kahr owners who want a robust iron-sight replacement for everyday carry, home defense, or backup use, this Tru-Dot configuration emphasizes readiness, simplicity, and dependable low-light reference.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets. Its product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, thermal devices, and related sighting solutions for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines.

That broad specialization is relevant here because Meprolight has long focused on practical aiming systems that must remain usable in demanding conditions. The company is a division of SK Group, and its catalog reflects a mix of traditional iron-sight expertise and more advanced electro-optical development. For handgun sights such as the Tru-Dot series, Meprolight is particularly known for self-illuminated tritium designs that prioritize constant readiness and straightforward operation.
