Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911 SUP

• Self-illuminated tritium sights: The three-dot sight picture stays visible in low light without batteries, giving a consistent reference for defensive carry, duty use, and night shooting.
• High-visibility fixed configuration: A fixed sight setup keeps the system simple and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift during daily carry or hard use.
• Steel construction: The all-steel body stands up to repeated holster wear, slide cycling, and routine handling better than lighter-duty sight materials.
• Three-dot alignment: The familiar three-dot layout helps the eye pick up front-to-rear alignment quickly, which supports faster sight acquisition at typical handgun distances.
• Kimber 1911 suppressor-ready fit: Built for the Kimber 1911 SUP platform, this sight set suits pistols that need elevated iron sights for use around taller slide setups.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright, was developed as a family of high-visibility handgun sights for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both bright daylight and reduced light. Introduced as part of Meprolight’s modern pistol-sight lineup, the series combines self-illuminated tritium with a practical defensive-sight layout, so the sights remain usable around the clock without relying on batteries or external charging.

Across the family, the design centers on a three-dot configuration with a U-shaped rear notch, giving the shooter a fast visual reference that is easy to center under stress. The steel construction reflects the series’ focus on carry pistols and service handguns, where durability matters as much as visibility. Different front-ring color options within the family allow the sight picture to be tuned to user preference, while the fixed layout keeps operation straightforward and dependable. In practical terms, the HVS or Hyper-Bright concept is aimed at defensive shooting, law-enforcement sidearms, and general handgun use where rapid alignment and dependable low-light visibility are more important than target-style adjustability.

About the Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911 SUP

The Meprolight HVS for Kimber 1911 SUP is a fixed tritium night sight set made for shooters who want a durable iron-sight solution on a Kimber 1911 suppressor-height platform. Its elevated format is especially useful when a pistol setup requires taller sights, helping maintain a usable sight picture where standard-height irons may sit too low. That makes it a sensible choice for defensive pistols, training guns, and practical range use built around the 1911 pattern.

The sight set uses a self-illuminated three-dot arrangement, so the dots remain visible in darkness and transitional light without switches or batteries. In use, that means the sight picture stays familiar from daytime practice through low-light conditions, reducing the need to adapt to a different aiming reference. The fixed design also suits a fighting handgun well: there are no exposed adjustment parts to complicate the draw or add unnecessary fragility.

Steel construction gives the set the strength expected for a slide-mounted component that must tolerate recoil, repeated cycling, and holster contact. The black finish keeps the overall appearance subdued, while the simple alignment pattern supports quick front-sight pickup. For shooters who prefer a robust iron-sight setup over more complex solutions, this model offers the core advantages of tritium visibility, suppressor-height geometry, and a straightforward defensive sight picture in one handgun-specific package.
