MDT LSS Gen3 Competitor Chassis System, Ruger 10/22 Product description

  • Competition-focused chassis layout: Built for competition use, this chassis gives the Ruger 10/22 a more stable, straight-line platform that supports consistent shooting positions and better control during timed stages.
  • Arca and M-Lok forend: The integrated Arca and M-Lok interface makes it easier to mount bipods, tripods, barricade accessories and other support gear, so the rifle can be adapted quickly for different match setups.
  • XTN buttstock interface: The XTN rear interface allows the chassis to be configured with compatible buttstock options, helping shooters tailor balance, fit and rear support to their preferred style.
  • AR-15 grip compatibility: Support for AR-15 style grips and MDT pistol grips lets the rifle be set up with a grip angle and shape that suits positional shooting and longer sessions on the range.
  • Aluminium construction: The aluminium chassis provides a rigid foundation for the action while keeping the system durable enough for regular range use and repeated accessory changes.

About the MDT LSS Series

The MDT LSS Gen3 series was announced on February 11, 2025 as a modular chassis platform intended for competition, hunting, tactical applications, and general shooting. Rather than being built around a single fixed configuration, the system uses an action-mating chassis base with interchangeable handguards and buttstock interfaces, giving shooters a way to configure the rifle around a specific role without replacing the entire chassis.

A defining characteristic of the series is its modular approach. MDT designed the LSS Gen3 so that handguards and buttstocks can be changed without affecting rifle zero, which is especially useful for shooters who want to alter handling, support options or overall layout while keeping the rifle’s established setup intact. The platform also accepts AR-style grips and uses an ambidextrous magazine latch, reflecting a design philosophy centered on adaptability, familiar ergonomics and practical use across different shooting disciplines. Within the range, MDT announced dedicated Competition, Hunting, and Tactical forends, allowing the same core system to be tuned for very different field or range requirements.

About the MDT LSS Gen3 Competitor Chassis System, Ruger 10/22

The MDT LSS Gen3 Competitor Chassis System, Ruger 10/22 applies the LSS Gen3 concept to a rimfire platform that is often used for training, practical shooting and match work. Its competition application and fixed 364.00 mm forend length point to a setup intended for stable support placement and predictable handling, especially when the rifle is shot from barricades, bags, bipods or tripods. For shooters using a 10/22 as a low-cost trainer, this kind of chassis layout helps bring the rifle closer to the feel and accessory compatibility of a centerfire match build.

The forend combines Arca and M-Lok interfaces, which broadens how the rifle can be equipped. Arca is particularly useful when moving between tripod and barricade support, while M-Lok keeps room for accessory placement without forcing a bulky profile. At the rear, the XTN Interface gives the chassis flexibility in buttstock selection, allowing the rifle’s balance and fit to be tailored to the shooter’s preferred position and support style.

AR-15 style grip compatibility, including support for MDT pistol grips, adds another practical advantage: the grip can be chosen for trigger reach, wrist angle and positional comfort rather than being limited to a fixed factory shape. The chassis is made from aluminium, providing the rigidity expected from a modern precision-oriented platform, and it accepts barrels up to 31.75 mm in diameter. With AICS magazine compatibility and a non-folding layout, this model is aimed at shooters who prioritize a straightforward, competition-ready rimfire chassis with broad accessory support and familiar ergonomics.

About MDT

MDT Sporting Goods was established in 2009 and began in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
