Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT Mak

1. Catadioptric Design: The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT Mak is a Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, a type of catadioptric scope that uses both mirrors and lenses to fold the light path. This design results in a remarkably compact tube for its long focal length, providing excellent light gathering while maintaining portability. It's ideally suited for planetary observation, lunar viewing, and appreciating brighter deep-sky objects.

2. GoTo Computerized Mount: Equipped with an advanced GoTo alt-azimuth mount, this telescope allows for precise, automatic location and tracking of over 40,000 celestial objects. This feature streamlines the viewing experience, making it incredibly user-friendly for both novice and experienced astronomers, while its robust construction ensures stable tracking, even at higher magnifications.

3. Superior Optics: Featuring a 102mm high-quality optical glass aperture, the SkyMatic 105 GT Mak delivers sharp, high-contrast images with minimal chromatic aberration, a common concern in refractor designs. Its closed tube design prevents dust and air currents from affecting image quality, contributing to its consistent performance in various observing conditions.

4. Portable and Versatile: Despite its powerful optical capabilities, the telescope maintains a compact and relatively lightweight form factor, making it easy to transport to dark sky locations or simply relocate within a backyard. Its versatility extends to both astronomical and terrestrial viewing, offering crisp views of distant objects with the addition of an appropriate erecting prism for land observation.

ABOUT THE LEVENHUK SKYMATIC 105 GT MAK

The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT Mak is a prime example of a catadioptric Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, offering a unique blend of optical power and compact portability. This model stands out from other telescopes in its class due to its integrated GoTo computerized mount, which automatically locates and tracks thousands of celestial objects with remarkable precision. Its 102mm aperture and f/12.3 focal ratio (1250mm) provide excellent views of the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced observers in urban environments where light pollution is a concern. The closed tube design of the Maksutov-Cassegrain system minimizes internal air currents and protects optical elements from dust, reducing the need for frequent cleaning. Constructed with high-quality optical glass and a durable aluminum tube, the SkyMatic 105 GT Mak ensures sharp, high-contrast images, making it a powerful tool for discovering the universe.
