Konus Regent HD 8x42

• 8x42 configuration: The 8x magnification keeps the image steady and easy to follow, while the 42 mm objective lenses gather enough light for confident observation in woodland, open country and at dusk.
• HD optical system: Konus uses a High-Definition optical system to improve sharpness and brightness, helping fine plumage, antler detail and distant terrain stand out more clearly in difficult light.
• Roof prism design: The Schmidt/Pechan roof prism layout keeps the binocular slim and easy to carry, making it a practical choice for long walks, travel and all-day field use.
• Wide-angle view: A field of view of 110.00 m/1000m makes it easier to scan large areas and track moving subjects, which is especially useful for birdwatching and general wildlife observation.
• Waterproof and fogproof build: Sealed construction helps the binocular stay usable in rain, damp air and rapid temperature changes, so it is better suited to real outdoor conditions than a basic fair-weather model.

About the Konus Regent HD Series

The Konus Regent HD series sits in the brand’s roof-prism outdoor binocular range as a practical step toward more refined field optics for users who want a compact shape, dependable weather resistance and a brighter, cleaner image than entry-level models. Built around an HD optical system, these binoculars are intended for general nature observation, hiking, birdwatching and hunting use where image sharpness and light transmission matter, but bulk still needs to stay under control.

A defining trait of the series is its combination of roof-prism construction, multi-coated optics and a waterproof body. That formula gives the Regent HD line a modern, easy-to-pack form factor while supporting good contrast and brightness in mixed light conditions. Konus also positions the series as a versatile outdoor option, with wide-angle viewing and field-friendly handling that suit scanning terrain as well as following moving subjects. In practice, the Regent HD family is designed for users who need one binocular for varied use rather than a highly specialized instrument for a single task.

About the Konus Regent HD 8x42

The Konus Regent HD 8x42 is the more relaxed and versatile configuration within the series. Its 8x magnification gives enough reach for wildlife, birds and distant landmarks, but remains easier to hold steady than higher-power binoculars. Combined with the 42.00 mm objective lenses, it offers a balanced format that works well from daylight into the lower-light periods of early morning and late afternoon, when contrast and image brightness become more important in the field.

This model uses a Schmidt/Pechan roof prism system, which keeps the body streamlined for transport and comfortable in the hand. The 5.20 mm exit pupil supports a bright, easy viewing experience, while the 110.00 m/1000m field of view helps when scanning woodland edges, following birds in flight or checking broad sections of terrain without feeling overly restricted. Multi-coated optics contribute to a cleaner image by improving light transmission and reducing distracting reflections.

Mechanically, the binocular is set up for straightforward field use. The central focusing system allows quick adjustment as viewing distances change, and the single-hinge body keeps handling simple and familiar. With a 700.00 g weight, it remains substantial enough to feel stable without becoming burdensome on longer outings. Waterproof and fogproof construction adds the durability expected from a hunting binocular or bird watching binocular that may be used in wet grass, rain or cold morning air. Tripod adaptability also gives it a useful second role for longer stationary observation sessions.

About Konus

Konus was founded in 1979 in Verona, Italy, and has long focused on optics for hunting and target shooting. Alongside riflescopes, the company also produces a broad range of outdoor optics, which gives it experience across both shooting and observation categories rather than in only one niche. That background is relevant to binoculars such as the Konus Regent HD, where practical field handling and dependable optical performance matter more than unnecessary complexity.

The company’s range includes riflescopes and other outdoor optical products, and it is part of Konus Italia Group S.p.A., based in Settimo di Pescantina, Italy. Within sporting optics, Konus is also known for product families such as the Konuspro line and for developing optics with laser-etched reticles, reflecting a long-standing emphasis on durable, field-oriented design.
