When illuminated, the reticle is available in red across 10 digital brightness stages with 8 daytime and 2 night-vision compatible settings. The Hawke Prism Sight series is Hawke's dedicated range of prism-based compact optical sights, designed primarily for AR-pattern and AK-pattern rifles where an etched glass reticle, fixed magnification, and compact overall dimensions are preferred over a conventional variable-power riflescope or an LED-projected dot sight. The fixed 6× magnification with a field of view of 6.4 metres at 100 metres delivers the image detail needed for precise aim point placement on smaller targets at distances where the BDC holdover marks are most relevant.

The 36mm objective lens, combined with 25-layer multi-coated optics, provides a larger aperture than the 4x24 to support light gathering at the higher magnification — maintaining a clear, usable image in the variable lighting conditions of outdoor AR-platform use. The 72mm of eye relief and fixed parallax at 91 metres are suited to the intended AR and AK-pattern rifle applications.

The 5.56 BDC Dot reticle is etched into the prism glass and provides multi-calibre holdover marks for .223 Rem / 5.56 NATO, .308 Win, .300 BLK, and 7.62×39mm — visible as a black reticle without battery power.
