Discovery Optics VT-T 4.5-18x44

• 4.5-18x magnification range: covers precise zeroing and target work at shorter distances, then gives enough top-end magnification for holdovers and shot placement at extended range.
• First focal plane DLT MIL reticle: the reticle scales with magnification, so mil-based holdovers and ranging remain consistent throughout the zoom range.
• Tactical turrets with Zero Stop: built for repeated dialing, with a hard return reference that helps the shooter come back to zero quickly after elevation changes.
• Side-focus parallax from 10 yds to infinity: makes the scope more useful on airguns as well as centerfire rifles, while helping keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane.
• Fully multi-coated, nitrogen-filled construction: supports better contrast and light transmission while the sealed tube resists internal fogging in changing weather.

About the Discovery Optics VT-T Series

The Discovery Optics VT-T series is a family of tactical riflescopes built around first focal plane DLT MIL reticles, a 30 mm tube, and 0.1 mil adjustments. The line includes 3-18x50, 4-16x50, 4.5-18x44, and 6-24x50 models, giving shooters a choice between more compact mid-range setups and higher-magnification long-range configurations. Across the range, the reticle subtensions stay true at any magnification, which matters for shooters who dial and hold interchangeably or who need reliable mil references in the field.

VT-T scopes are designed for long-range shooting, hunting, and use on powerful airguns, so the series combines tactical controls with practical versatility. Side-focus parallax starts at 10 yards, making these scopes usable well below typical centerfire distances. The optics are fully multi-coated, and the tubes are nitrogen-filled, waterproof, and fogproof for dependable use in variable weather. Discovery also equips the series with its TES (Torus Erector Support) system, intended to support the erector assembly under recoil and help the scope maintain tracking consistency over repeated use.

About the Discovery Optics VT-T 4.5-18x44

The Discovery Optics VT-T 4.5-18x44 sits in a useful middle ground for shooters who want one riflescope for target work, field shooting, and longer-range hunting. Its 4.5-18x magnification range gives enough low-end for general-purpose use while still providing the precision needed for small targets and careful shot placement at distance. Paired with a 44 mm objective lens, it keeps the overall profile more manageable than larger objective tactical scopes while still offering a practical balance of brightness and size.

The DLT FFP MIL reticle makes this model especially suitable for shooters who work in mils. Because it is in the first focal plane, holdovers and ranging references remain accurate across the zoom range, which simplifies transitions between magnifications. This model is non-illuminated, a straightforward setup that suits daylight target shooting and hunting where a clean reticle picture matters more than added electronics.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for dialing. It uses tactical turrets with Zero Stop, CCW rotation, and up to 17.40 mrad of elevation and windage travel. That gives the shooter repeatable correction for distance and wind, with a clear return point after adjustments. The side-focus parallax adjustment from 10Yds-infinity broadens the scope’s usefulness on rimfires and airguns as well as centerfire rifles. A 30 mm tube, fully multicoated lenses, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction round out a design intended for regular field use rather than occasional bench shooting.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the company as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The company focuses on rifle scopes for shooting and hunting and also offers electro-optical sighting devices, including thermal imaging products for hunting. Its riflescope range includes the XED, ED, LHD, and HD series, showing a lineup that covers different price and performance levels rather than a single narrow niche.

Within the riflescope category, Discovery Optics offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane reticles, which reflects a product strategy aimed at practical use cases from general hunting to more technical dialing and holdover work. That breadth is relevant to the VT-T series, which sits on the tactical side of the brand’s scope portfolio while keeping features that also suit field shooting.
