DD Optics Nachtfalke II 2.5-10x56

• 2.5-10x magnification range: This zoom span covers close woodland shots and longer field edges without making the scope feel oversized, so it suits a general-purpose hunting rifle used from dusk high seats to more open ground.
• 56 mm objective lens: The large front lens and generous exit pupil support a bright sight picture in poor light, helping the reticle stay easy to place when legal shooting time is running short.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The red illuminated reticle in the second focal plane keeps a familiar reticle size across the zoom range, which makes fast target acquisition simpler at low magnification and preserves a fine aiming point at higher power.
• Side parallax adjustment from 20 m to infinity: Fine parallax control sharpens the image and reduces aiming error at varying distances, which is useful for precise shot placement from short-range feeders to longer shots across fields.
• 30 mm nitrogen-filled tube: The robust tube construction, waterproofing and fogproof filling help the scope stay dependable through rain, temperature changes and repeated field use.

About the DD Optics Nachtfalke III Series

DD Optics Nachtfalke III is a Generation III riflescope series developed for hunting and sport shooting, with the range announced by DDoptics on November 26, 2014. Within the manufacturer’s lineup, these scopes are built around practical hunting formats rather than specialist tactical configurations, with versions using 42 mm, 50 mm, and 56 mm objective lenses to suit different balances of size, weight and low-light performance.

A defining feature of the series is its revised reticle design. DDoptics describes the Generation III reticle as having a finer central crosshair and shorter outer posts than the earlier pattern, giving the shooter a less obstructed view of the target while still preserving clear reference points in dim conditions. The series also introduced an improved optical coating, aimed at better image transmission and contrast for the hunting situations these scopes are intended for, including low-light hunting, stalking and driven hunts. The overall concept combines practical field handling with modern hunting-scope features, giving the Nachtfalke III family a broad role as versatile hunting optics rather than single-purpose competition scopes.

About the DD Optics Nachtfalke II 2.5-10x56

The DD Optics Nachtfalke II 2.5-10x56 is configured as a classic low-light hunting riflescope. Its 2.5-10x magnification gives it a useful spread for mixed hunting distances: low power remains manageable for quicker target acquisition in tighter terrain, while 10x offers enough detail for deliberate shot placement at longer ranges. Paired with a 56 mm objective lens, the scope is especially well suited to dawn and dusk use, where a bright image and a forgiving exit pupil matter more than extreme magnification.

The scope uses an illuminated reticle in the second focal plane, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the zoom range. In practice, that makes the aiming point easy to read at low power and still fine enough for more precise holds when magnification is increased. The illumination is red and intended for subdued-light use rather than bright daylight, which fits the scope’s role as a hunting optic for poor light. A side-focus parallax adjustment from 20 m to infinity adds flexibility for both short and extended distances by keeping the image crisp and minimizing parallax-related aiming error.

Mechanically, the scope follows a straightforward hunting layout with capped turrets, which protect the settings from accidental movement while the rifle is carried through brush or in a vehicle. The 30 mm tube, fully multicoated optics, nitrogen filling, waterproofing and fogproof construction support dependable field use in changing weather. At 670 g and 349.00 mm long, it remains substantial enough for a stable 56 mm hunting scope without becoming unnecessarily bulky.

About DD Optics

DD Optics is a German family-owned optics company founded in 2007 in Dresden, Germany. The company later moved its headquarters to Chemnitz in 2012. DDoptics focuses on optical instruments for hunting, nature observation, birdwatching and general outdoor use, with a product range that includes binoculars, spotting scopes, rifle scopes and night-vision devices.

The brand is known for combining German product development with Japanese production on much of its core optics range. DDoptics states that its binoculars and rifle scopes are mainly developed in Germany and mainly produced in Japan, reflecting a design approach that emphasizes practical field use and consistent optical quality. Across the wider lineup, the company also uses technologies such as EDX binocular construction with ED glass, Schmidt-Pechan prisms and DDlucid coatings, showing its broader expertise in image quality and optical coatings beyond riflescopes alone.
