Crimson Trace LG-404 Front Activation Lasergrips

• Front Instinctive Activation: The pressure pad sits where the firing hand naturally closes on the grip, so the laser comes on as the pistol is presented without adding a separate switch movement.
• Grip-Integrated Laser Design: By replacing the factory grip panels, the LG-404 keeps the 1911 compact profile clean and holster-friendly while adding a visible aiming reference.
• Windage and Elevation Adjustment: User-adjustable zero lets the laser be matched to the pistol and ammunition, helping maintain practical point-of-impact alignment at defensive handgun distances.
• 0.50 MOA Dot Size: A fine aiming point supports precise placement instead of covering too much of the target, which is especially useful on compact 1911 pistols.
• Rugged Polymer Construction: The polymer housing keeps weight and bulk down while standing up to regular carry and range use on a working handgun.

About the Lasergrips Series

Crimson Trace Lasergrips are built for shooters who want a laser sight without changing the basic handling of the handgun. Instead of adding a rail-mounted unit, the system replaces the grip panels and integrates the laser into the firearm itself, which helps preserve balance, draw characteristics and overall carry comfort. Within the Crimson Trace lineup, Lasergrips are a core handgun-laser family, widely used on defensive pistols and revolvers where fast target indexing matters more than added bulk.

A defining feature of the series is Instinctive Activation, which uses pressure pads positioned for use with a normal firing grip. In practice, this means the laser is available as the pistol is brought on target, without requiring the shooter to break grip or search for a separate control. The series is known for model-specific fit, compact integration and practical zeroing adjustments. On carry and defensive handguns, that combination makes Lasergrips especially relevant for low-light aiming, unconventional shooting positions and training scenarios where a visible laser can reinforce sight alignment and trigger control.

About the Crimson Trace LG-404 Front Activation Lasergrips

The Crimson Trace LG-404 Front Activation Lasergrips are designed for 1911 Compact pistols, including Officer's, Compact and Defender-style variants. This model uses a grip-replacement format rather than an external accessory mount, so it adds a red aiming laser while keeping the pistol slim and familiar in the hand. That matters on compact 1911 platforms, where preserving concealability and natural pointing characteristics is often just as important as adding an aiming aid.

The defining feature is front activation with Instinctive Activation. The activation button is positioned so the laser engages with a normal shooting grip, allowing rapid presentation without an extra step. For defensive use, this supports faster target indexing in low light or from compromised positions where iron sights are harder to align. The unit also includes adjustable windage and elevation, allowing the laser to be zeroed to the pistol for practical carry distances. Its Class 3R red laser projects a fine aiming point with an approximate 0.50 MOA dot, giving a precise reference that does not overwhelm the target area.

The LG-404 uses polymer side panels and a rubber-overmold activation surface, combining durability with secure handling. As a dedicated 1911 grip solution, it suits shooters who want a clean, integrated handgun laser for concealed carry, defensive training and general-purpose use on compact 1911 pistols.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its reputation around firearm laser sights and firearm-mounted lights. The company is especially known for practical activation systems, including Instinctive Activation, which places pressure pads so the unit engages with a normal shooting grip. That approach made Crimson Trace a recognizable name in defensive handgun accessories, particularly for grip-integrated laser systems.

Its product range includes the Lasergrips, Laserguard and Rail Master lines, alongside riflescopes and rangefinders. Crimson Trace also operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States. Across these categories, the brand focuses on aiming and sighting products that fit real carry, duty and field use rather than adding unnecessary bulk or complexity.
