Crimson Trace LG-401 Lasergrip for 1911 Full-size

• Instinctive Front Activation: the laser engages as the pistol is gripped in a normal firing hold, so the sight is ready without adding a separate step during presentation.
• Grip-Replacement Design: the LG-401 integrates into the 1911 grip panels rather than adding a rail-mounted unit, preserving the pistol’s familiar balance and slim profile.
• User-Adjustable Windage and Elevation: point of aim can be tuned to the pistol and ammunition in use, which helps maintain practical accuracy at defensive handgun distances.
• 5 mW Class 3R Red Laser: the 633.00 nm beam provides a clear aiming reference in a wide range of lighting conditions, supporting faster sight alignment when speed matters.
• Rugged Polymer Construction: the waterproof housing is built for daily carry and regular range use, helping the laser sight stay dependable in adverse weather and hard handling.

About the Lasergrips Series

Crimson Trace Lasergrips are built for shooters who want a laser sight that feels like a natural part of the handgun rather than an added accessory. Within the company’s handgun-laser lineup, the series is known for its grip-integrated design, replacing factory grip panels on compatible pistols and revolvers while keeping the firearm compact and easy to carry. That makes Lasergrips especially relevant for defensive handguns, concealed-carry pistols and duty sidearms where bulk on the frame can be a disadvantage.

A defining feature of the series is Instinctive Activation, which places the activation pad where it can be engaged by a normal firing grip. In practice, this means the laser comes on as the pistol is presented, without forcing the shooter to hunt for a separate switch. Depending on the model, the Lasergrips family covers a wide range of handgun platforms and offers different materials, profiles and laser configurations, but the common idea remains the same: fast target indexing, minimal change to handling and a clean installation that suits real-world carry and training use.

About the Crimson Trace LG-401 Lasergrip for 1911 Full-size

The Crimson Trace LG-401 Lasergrip for 1911 Full-size is designed specifically for full-size 1911 and 1991A1-pattern pistols, giving this classic handgun platform an integrated red laser aiming system without changing the familiar feel of a grip-mounted sidearm. Because it replaces the grip panels rather than attaching to a rail, the unit keeps the pistol streamlined and avoids the extra forward bulk that can affect holster fit or handling.

This model uses front activation with Crimson Trace’s instinctive operating concept, so the laser activates when the pistol is held in a natural shooting grip. For defensive use, training drills and low-light shooting, that matters because the sighting reference appears immediately during presentation. The 633.00 nm, 5.00 mW Class 3R laser provides a visible red aiming point, while the approximately 0.50 MOA dot size supports precise placement at typical handgun distances.

The LG-401 also includes windage and elevation adjustment, allowing the laser to be matched to the pistol and chosen load. Its polymer construction and waterproof build suit regular carry and field exposure, while the master on/off switch gives the shooter direct control when the laser is not needed. With about 4.00 h battery life, the unit is configured for practical carry use on a 1911 platform that remains slim, familiar and quick to deploy.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its reputation around firearm-mounted aiming and illumination systems. The company makes firearm laser sights and firearm-mounted lights, with product families that include Lasergrips, Laserguard and Rail Master. A key part of its identity is Instinctive Activation, which uses pressure pads positioned so the laser engages with a normal shooting grip rather than requiring a separate motion.

Beyond handgun laser sights, Crimson Trace also offers riflescopes and rangefinders, showing a broader focus on shooting optics and aiming equipment. The company operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States, and its product range reflects long experience in practical sighting systems for defensive, sporting and field use.
