This critical feature ensures that the internal optical surfaces remain clean and clear, regardless of humidity or temperature fluctuations, guaranteeing consistent performance in diverse environmental conditions.

4. Durable Construction: Built with a robust, anodized aluminum body and a comfortable rubber grip, the Explore Scientific 82° 4.7 mm eyepiece is designed for longevity and secure handling. Its durable construction ensures reliability and resistance to wear, making it a dependable accessory for avid astronomers.

ABOUT THE EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 82° 4.7 MM EYEPIECE

The Explore Scientific 82° 4.7 mm Eyepiece stands out from conventional designs by offering an exceptionally wide 82° apparent field of view, providing an immersive celestial experience unlike standard Plössl or Orthoscopic eyepieces. This broad field allows for sweeping observations of deep-sky objects such as nebulae and galaxies, encompassing more of the sky at once and reducing the need for constant telescope repositioning. While excelling in wide-field deep-sky observation, its 4.7 mm focal length also delivers substantial magnification, making it highly effective for detailed planetary and lunar viewing. The optical system often includes fully multi-coated elements and edge-blackened lenses to ensure maximum contrast, minimal reflections, and superior light transmission. Its precise mechanical construction and waterproof design underscore its reliability. Employing original Explore Scientific accessories and spare parts is crucial for maintaining the eyepiece's optimal performance and significantly prolonging its operational lifespan, ensuring consistent optical quality for years to come.
