Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48

• 2-10x variable magnification: covers close woodland shots at the low end and gives enough image scale for more deliberate aiming at longer distances, making it well suited to mixed hunting use.
• 48 mm objective lens: balances light-gathering ability with a practical overall size, helping the scope stay usable in poor light without becoming excessively bulky on the rifle.
• 30 mm tube: provides a robust mounting format with useful internal adjustment space, while keeping compatibility with widely available rings.
• SFP reticle with capped turrets: keeps the sight picture familiar through the zoom range and protects the adjustments from accidental movement during transport or field carry.
• Waterproof and shockproof construction: supports reliable use in wet weather, rough terrain and repeated recoil, which matters on a working hunting rifle.

About the Vomz Pilad PV Series

The Vomz Pilad PV series is the variable-power branch of the Pilad riflescope family, built for shooters who need one optic to handle changing distances and field conditions. In the VOMZ range, the PV designation identifies scopes with variable magnification, giving the user more flexibility than a fixed-power hunting optic while keeping the design straightforward and practical.

Across the series, Pilad PV models are offered in different magnification ranges and objective sizes to suit everything from fast shooting at shorter distances to more deliberate aiming in open ground. The line is aimed at hunting and sport shooting, with an emphasis on durable mechanical construction, familiar controls and a clear optical layout rather than overly complex features. In the broader Pilad family, variants can include 30 mm tube construction, multicoated lenses and different reticle patterns, allowing the series to cover both simple traditional hunting setups and more specialized preferences. The result is a riflescope range designed around versatility, dependable field use and a practical balance between magnification, brightness and handling.

About the Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48

The Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48 is an all-round hunting riflescope built for shooters who need one optic to cover varied terrain and changing shot distances. Its 2-10x magnification range gives it a broad working envelope: at 2x it remains manageable for closer shots and moving game, while 10x provides the extra image detail needed for more careful placement when the distance opens up. Paired with a 48 mm objective lens, the scope is configured to maintain a bright, usable image in the low-light periods when hunting activity often peaks.

The optical layout supports practical field use rather than bench-focused complexity. A second focal plane reticle keeps the reticle appearance consistent as magnification changes, which many hunters prefer for a familiar sight picture and uncluttered aiming. The multicoated lenses help preserve contrast and transmission, while the stated field of view range allows the scope to move from wider observation at low power to more precise target definition at high power.

Mechanically, the scope follows a straightforward hunting format. Capped turrets protect the adjustments from knocks and unintended movement in a rifle slip, vehicle or hide, and the 0.10 MIL click value gives clear, usable correction when zeroing. The 30 mm tube, waterproof and shockproof construction, and working temperature range of -40 °C / +50 °C all point to a scope intended for regular outdoor use in demanding conditions rather than occasional fair-weather outings.

About Vomz

VOMZ began operations in Vologda, Russia, on October 16, 1971, and it remains headquartered in Vologda. The company produces optoelectronic products for special-purpose and civilian applications, giving it a broad manufacturing base in precision optical equipment. Within the civilian market, VOMZ is known for Pilad-branded rifle scopes and for a sight range that also includes optical, prism and collimator sights.

Pilad products are intended for uses such as hunting and sport shooting, which places VOMZ firmly in the field of practical sporting optics rather than purely laboratory or industrial optics. The company is part of the Shvabe holding within the Rostec State Corporation, and its riflescopes are associated with a design approach focused on durability and service use. For this product category, one relevant detail is that VOMZ scopes are tested against recoil loads of 800 g, reflecting the brand's emphasis on mechanical resilience in real firearm applications.
