Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48 L

• 2-10x variable magnification: the wide zoom range covers close woodland shots as well as more deliberate aiming at longer distances, so one riflescope can handle mixed hunting and general sport-shooting use.
• 48 mm objective lens: the larger front lens supports a brighter sight picture at dawn, dusk and in poor weather, helping the reticle stay easier to place when contrast is low.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: the red illuminated reticle improves visibility against dark game or shaded backgrounds, while the second focal plane layout keeps the reticle size visually consistent through the zoom range.
• 30 mm tube with capped turrets: the larger tube gives a robust mounting platform, and capped adjustment turrets help protect zero from accidental movement during transport or field carry.
• Nitrogen-filled, waterproof and fogproof construction: the sealed housing is built for changing outdoor conditions, reducing internal fogging and helping the scope remain usable in cold, wet and rough hunting environments.

About the Vomz Pilad PV Series

The Vomz Pilad PV series is the variable-power branch of the Pilad riflescope range, built for shooters who want one optic to cover more than a single distance or style of use. In the Pilad naming system, “PV” denotes variable magnification, and the series includes models with different zoom ranges and objective sizes for hunting and sport shooting. That makes the line a practical fit for rifles used across woodland stalking, open-ground hunting and general range work.

Across the series, the design approach is straightforward and field-oriented: 30 mm mounting-ring diameter on relevant models, multicoated lenses for improved light transmission, and illuminated-reticle options that help aiming in dimmer conditions. Depending on the model, reticle layouts can include traditional hunting-style patterns as well as circle-based designs that are easier to acquire quickly at shorter distances. The result is a family of optics that emphasizes usable magnification, familiar controls and durable construction rather than unnecessary complexity, making the Pilad PV line especially suitable for hunters and recreational shooters who value a simple, adaptable riflescope.

About the Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48 L

The Vomz Pilad PV 2-10x48 L is an all-round hunting riflescope built around a 2-10x magnification range and a 48 mm objective lens. At the low end, it remains manageable for closer shots where a wider field of view and faster target pickup matter. At higher magnification, it gives the shooter more precision for careful shot placement at longer distances. This balance makes it well suited to mixed terrain, where shooting distances can change quickly during the same outing.

Its optical layout supports practical field use rather than bench-only performance. The fully multicoated lenses and quoted 80 % light transmission help maintain a clear image in subdued light, while the exit pupil range favors a comfortable sight picture through the zoom span. A fast-focus eyepiece and -5 / +5 Dpt diopter range make it easier to tailor the reticle focus to the shooter’s eyesight, which is especially useful when fast target recognition matters.

The scope uses an illuminated red reticle in the second focal plane, so the apparent reticle size stays constant as magnification changes. That is a familiar arrangement for hunting use, where a stable-looking aiming point can feel less distracting when moving between low and high power. The capped 1/4 MOA turrets are better suited to set-and-hold zero use than frequent dialing, protecting the adjustments from knocks in the field. With a 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction, this model is configured for regular outdoor use in changing weather.

About Vomz

VOMZ began operations in Vologda, Russia, on October 16, 1971. The company produces optoelectronic products for special-purpose and civilian applications, giving it a broad background in sighting and observation equipment rather than a narrow focus on a single product type. Within its civilian lineup, VOMZ manufactures Pilad-branded rifle scopes, alongside optical, prism and collimator sights intended for hunting and sport shooting.

The company is headquartered in Vologda, Russia and operates as part of the Shvabe holding within the Rostec State Corporation. For riflescope buyers, that matters because it reflects an established manufacturing base with experience in ruggedized optical products. VOMZ also states that its scopes are tested against recoil loads of 800 g, underlining the brand’s emphasis on practical durability for field and sporting use.
