The Vector Optics Frenzy FA 1x17x20 GMR is a compact, non-magnified green dot sight built for pistol-mounted everyday carry and close-range defensive use. Its 17x20 mm optical window keeps the housing small and light, at just 26 g without mount, so it adds minimal bulk or weight to a carry pistol or compact host firearm.

Unlike single-reticle red dot sights, the Frenzy FA GMR offers a multi-reticle system combining a 2 MOA dot, a 36 MOA circle, and a 46 MOA crosshair, all shown in green. This lets the shooter choose a fine aiming point for deliberate shots or a larger circle-dot pattern for faster instinctive target acquisition, switching between them as the situation calls for. An aspheric lens is used to reduce optical distortion across the window, helping keep the reticle and target picture clear at the edges as well as the center.

Illumination is adjustable across 9 daylight settings and 2 night-vision-compatible settings, covering a wide range of lighting conditions from bright sun to use with night vision devices. A built-in motion sensor automatically powers the sight down after around 10 minutes of inactivity and wakes it the moment the firearm is moved, extending the runtime of the single CR1620 battery to a rated 20,000 hours without requiring the shooter to remember to switch it off.

Windage and elevation are adjustable in 1 MOA clicks, with 90 MOA or more of travel in each direction, giving enough range to zero the sight on a variety of host platforms. The housing is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy with a 6061-T6 aluminum mount, rated IP67 for water resistance and tested to withstand 1500 G of shock — figures aimed squarely at the recoil and handling demands of daily carry.
